Victory Stride: The Symphonic Music of James P. Johnson

Interesting stuff.  Johnson was a jazz stride pianist who composed some almost forgotten orchestral scores a la Gershwin in the 20s-30s.  Sample: Drums - A Symphonic Poem.

My favorite Floyd would probably be "Wish You Were Here" as well.

Vampire Weekend's self titled album hasn't left my car's CD player in weeks.  The band has an extremely unique sound.  I love it and it's certainly not my normal type of music.

Apparently the band is starting to hit it big.  I hadn't heard of them until a few weeks ago when the local indie/punk station played "A-Punk".  Went out and bought the album a few days later.  Very much worth a listen.  I highly recommend it.

Skaboi, I like the songs you selected from youtube; added VAMPIRE WEEKEND to my amazon cart.   Thumbup

Glad you like them Allhallowsday.  Like I said, the sound is certainly unique.  Some of it reminds me of The Police, some of it reminds me of Talking Heads and some of it has a sound unlike most anything I've heard before.  The only problem with the album is that it is too short, only clocking in around a half hour or so.
