Look back a couple of posts.   Wink  I bought them separately on consecutive weeks but it's possible to get them both on one CD.

Sad music for a sad day.

Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy - Awesomely good though!

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head - Not so good but has its moments.

And to cheer up and give oneself the illusion, or is that delusion, things seem a bit more bright...

Yes, of course, I had seen that, but I guess I was distracted.  They're both on The Complete Village Vanguard Recordings, 1961

"Bix Beiderbecke, Vol. 1: Singin' the Blues"
That's a great collection; Vol. 2 is almost as good.  My favorite, though perhaps the least prominent BIX cornet, is "Humpty Dumpty" which is downright bizarre... how often do you hear a violin solo in Jazz, particularly 1920s Jazz?   I'm mad for "Riverboat Shuffle" too.  I think I'll pop it on right now, 'smatter of fact.

My favorites so far are "I'm Coming Virginia" and "Singing the Blues," though all the tracks are quality.  I see your point on "Humpty Dumpty."  I just got this album and my faves may change with more listening.

"Change of Heart" by Tim Fite

Like most of Tim's albums, this is available for free.  Hard to classify: experimental electronic folk?  It's also an extremely downbeat and despairing album (that was released on Valentine's Day).
