More NWOBHM greatness with the grandfathers of the movement, Raven.  From their 1988 album Nothing Exceeds Like Excess, here's "The King".

RAVEN kicks ass!

True that. This album came out in 1988, after a two-year hiatus following the departure
of drummer Rob 'Wacko" Hunter following a record deal with Atlantic that, from 1984 to 1986, forced Raven into commercialization and forced them to make some seriously watered down music.

Sadly in 1988, after this album Raven was dropped from Combat records, and  were unable to fairly compete in the business because of a sloo of other bands that were already established and quite famous.

The web has truly revived their career and they get a LOT of work now and released an album back in 2010 called Walk Through Fire that was quite good! Check em' out at www.ravenlunatics.com

They also have a new DVD that chronicles their career. Look for Raven "Rock Until You Drop: A Long Day's Journey."  It's been years in the making.

Does it credit TERRY SNYDER and THE ALL STARS?  That's Exotica, ...no?   I don't have much ENOCH LIGHT but think I'd like it.

No one is credited on the covers. Terry Snyder's band plays on one of the discs and there's another group on the other. Enoch Light is one of the few cases where the producer is typically given top billing over the band, I guess because this stuff was extensively post-produced and the projects are his from beginning to end. And yeah, it's exotica for sure (I'm in an exotica phase).

EDIT: Just checked and the "Provocative" band is just credited as "Command All-Stars" (Command was Light's label).

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.
