When I heard that opening song, I wanted to hear more.  Does he say "repay" or "repaint"?  Either way, it's a great lyric.  Now I'll listen to that album.

There's a lot to like on this record, especially if you like sincerity, absurdity, great songwriting, stripped production, Folk, or the Blues.  Oh. yeh, there's also kick ass Rock.

I hear "repay."
I think I had read the lyric somewhere long ago, and it was "repay" which may be more insightful than "repaint" but in the context of the sentence that word also can make sense... "When you're old enough to repay, but young enough to sell."
