Dam-this is the third time I listened to this. It's half the reason I love the movie. Same with PSYCHO,all Leone spaghetti westerns,LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, MIDNIGHT COWBOY, 2001,-Some soundtracks define a movie. This one does too.

Y'know, I think I've got DEEP RED on DVD in one of those 50 paks...  and looked at it.  I don't dislike the movie or soundtrack.  Soundtrack does remind me of DAWN OF THE DEAD.  
I listen to a lot of soundtracks like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, (all out of the can) CARNIVAL OF SOULS, THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR, TAXI DRIVER...

The reason it reminds you of DAWN OF THE DEAD is beacuse Goblin did that too.
