Some really BAD New Wave music just to remind folks that the 80's really did suck.

This nostalgia for 80's is beyond me. f**k the 80's.

I liked some things, and saw a lot of acts in the '80s.  At least they didn't suck as bad as the '70s.

It's been a whole bunch o' LED ZEPPELIN this week, sparked by my recent pickup of their "In Through the Out Door" CD at Goodwill.

I've gotta admit I have never been much more than a casual Zep fan  - I had "IV" on cassette back in the day (because it was almost a requirement when I was in college) but that was all. I didn't even own any of their stuff on CD till about three years ago when I snagged the first three and Houses of the Holy at a yard sale. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say I ever dis-liked Zep, I just never took the time to dig into'em beyond the radio hits. (You know what they say... if you are ever in the mood to hear Led Zeppelin, just turn on a classic-rock radio station and wait a few minutes. Haha)

Anyway, I was lukewarm on much of In Through... at first (which I'm told is not a fan favorite anyway) but it did inspire me to pull out the rest of my Zep discs and I've been listening to 'em all on a constant loop during my morning & evening commutes this week. Therefore I've probably listened to more Zeppelin in the past two week than I have in the past 20 years. The light bulb finally went "on." Better late than never, huh?

Of course, this means I'm gonna have to start digging for the rest of the studio albums I'm missing and fill in the gaps of my LZ collection. (sigh) It's a sickness. :D

Which are you missing?

I've been listening to In Through The Out Door (on YouTube) since you'd inspired me about a month ago...

I guess everybody knows I love LED ZEPPELIN, but the last I no longer own.

Okay, why not?  On the fourth album, which is perfection, I don't listen much since I wore it out maybe twice... but if I was inclined to pick one it'd be "When The Levee Breaks"...

QuoteWhich are you missing?

I have the debut, II, III, Houses of the Holy and In Through the Out Door.

...so that means (checks Wikipedia) I am missing IV, Presence, Physical Graffiti, and the final Coda odds-and-ends comp.

Of course there are dozens of live Zep albums/compilations/etc. out there too, but when I collect a band I tend to concentrate mainly on studio albums and if the spirit moves me I'll get one or two key live releases.

Actually 4.5 albums.

This is kind of cool, mildly punk rock based on Norwegian folk music. Maybe kind of like a Scandinavian Pogues thing (in the concept, not in the sound)?

I like to think the title translates to "Oompah 'Till You Drop."

There is only ONE key live LED ZEP album: The Song Remains The Same.  Anything else was released after the band broke up.
Coda is seriously not worth bothering with... I had it on vinyl and liked it better "than I should have".  Didn't matter.  I don't think I like it much.
