Another movie popped into my head earlier but I can't remember the title.

The scene I'm thinking of has two main characters sitting in the backseat of a small prop plane while the pilot, an older and overweight man starts burping.
He keeps burping and burping and eventually he foams at the mouth and dies at the controls.
The two in the backseat freak out and jump into the front seats and try to land the plane.

I think it was an 80's movie.

The plane looked like this but I'm pretty sure it was white instead of yellow.

Anyone know what movie that is?

Do you remember anything about what happened before or after the crash?

First thing to come to mind was the 1990 adaptation of HatchetCry in the Wild.  The scruffy, fat pilot has a heart attack and the resourceful teenager tries to recover it, unsuccessfully, and bails.  He then must fend for himself in the wild, lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Grunge,
It isn't the movie you suggested.

I remember that it was a comedy and the two leads were adults.
For some reason I keep picturing Gene Wilder or Chevy Chase.
Not sure if either of them are in it though.

Gene Wilder played the fox in Little Prince.  Here's a picture of the downed plane:

I did some digging at the IMDB to try and figure out what movie this is.
I can see the scene clear as day in my head.

Is it Hanky Panky?

(I'm still getting that Gene Wilder vibe)

Kroogur

Yes it was Hanky Panky, Gene and Gilda were kinda giggling at first at the "burpy" pilot then he heart attack and they had to scramble to get at the controls, the pilot would probably best be remembered as Phil the bartender on "Murphy Brown", sadly he passed away last year.

Thanks Kroogur.

I'm pretty sure you're right.
I do believe it was indeed Hanky Panky.

Karma to you for the help!
