Wow, I was holding a straight face till he threw the egg at the mother. That's to funny.  Or when the ape walks over that cow figure. :bouncegiggle:

The Erotic Witch Project

anyone whose seen this will know which bit I mean

Mr. DS

I can recall a few involving not necessarily Gorillas but simians of some sort such as The Ape and The Apeman.  I've always thought simians=funny no matter what they're involved in.

A genereal rule of thumb is if a movie features a guy in a gorilla suit, it's probably a b-movie.

Even if that guy is Rick Baker.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

Yeah, and if you look closely, when the dinosaur lifts up his head when he looks at Gorga, you can see the bottom rim of the head.

Actually there's numerous movies from the 1930s, 40s and 50s featuring guys in gorilla suits. The Ritz Brothers, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and the Bowery Boys all dealt with them.

me and my friend hired it out for the night - possibly expecting something half-way decent (!), so once we got past the fact of how terrible it was, when the gorilla scene came we were literally rolling on the floor almost crying. havent seen the sequel, lol. maybe one day... maybe not.  :teddyr:

Ah, yes.

Back in the day, any moderately eccentric scientist worth his salt kept a killer gorilla in a tiny cage in his lab.

I think Lugosi's THE APE MAN is the CITIZEN KANE of guys in a gorilla suit movies.

Hmmm...lotsa good stuf covered here! Lemme see...
.WHITE PONGO-(PRC,1945) If it's by PRC...you know it's a quality(?) picture (hehehe)
.WHITE GORILLA (1947) An ape gets thrown out of his tribe for being the wrong color....most of this mess is made up of an old silent serial with narration added.
.The JUNGLE WOMAN series of films of the 40's by Universal all had cool mad doctors (John Carridine, J.Carrol Naish, and Otto(DRACULA'S DAUGHTER) Krueger, and one even featured Rondo Hatton! All feature an ape being changed into a woman, and versa visa!
.SCHLOCK-aka the BANANA MONSTER (1972).Director John Landis's first movie...and he plays an ape in a suit done by then rookie Rick Baker! Forry Ackerman has a bit in it too!
Oh yeah...BELA LUGOSI meets a BROOKLYN GORILLA.....

         [youtube=425,350] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHp11QhJcHs....how embarrasing... :lookingup:
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Didn't they make White Gorilla just so they could reuse the costume from White Pongo?  I remember hearing that a few years ago.  I have the buget DVD of White Pongo, but haven't picked up White Gorilla.

Definitely find a copy of this one!

WHITE PONGO is fun, but THE WHITE GORILLA is truly hilarious!

Like RC said, it's padded out with lots of footage from some silent jungle epic. Multi-talented Ray "Crash" Corrigan plays the human lead and the white gorilla! It seems being rejected by his black brothers has caused the white gorilla to turn into a spiteful bully. He beats the crap out of everything in his path, steals native children, and just generally has a bad attitude.

It's pretty funny watching the really bonehead attempts to mix the new footage with the old stuff. There is a impressively wild cult ceremony in a cave (from the old footage, of course) that ends badly for everyone. There's also a chubby jungle boy who rides around on a real elephant's trunk (from the old footage) and some impressive acrobatics from the hero (from the old footage). The new footage is mostly people standing around and Corrigan and a guy in the black gorilla suit running around, fighting, and throwing sticks at each other.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.
