It is notable, that even before "Gilligan's Island." Russell Johnson was playing the part of a professor. And despite its title, this is not a film about STDs, like "USS VD: Ship pf Shame," which is reviewed at this site.

This was one of those movies that escaped me for years. I saw almost everything else from the 50's by the time I was 20, but did not see this one until late last year.
