Me and my kid were watching the end of Matrix Reloaded, where Neo takes the bullet out of Trinity, and kind of throws it aside. I laughed because I thought it would be a the perfect place for one of those old "someone throws something out of scene and you hear a cat screech as if whatever was thrown had hit it" kinda moves. I was laughing about that when I realized I honestly can't recall any distinct place in any movie or show where that happens, but it seems like it's done often for a cheap laugh. I laugh every time I hear it, anyone know of directly when and where it happens, in what movies?
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Ozzymandias

Ozzymandias speaks: It is usually in a Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker comedy.

El Dogo

It kind of happens in the Steve Martin comedy The Man With Two Brains.  Dr. Steve is performing brain surgery on some schmoe, and then says "will someone get that cat out of here!", which is followed by cat screeching.

Not completely the same, but there's a scene in the Waxworks where this guy in a wheelchair yells, "Tally ho!" fires a gun in the air, and suddenly a chicken falls down.

There's the part in Young Frankenstein in which a thrown dart out a window is followed by a cat's screech.

There are tons of looney tunes cartoons where the characters throw something off screen and we hear the tinkle of glass, screech of a cat etc.

Raffine

I'd swear I've seen that bit a thousand times in some fairly recent comedies, but no specific example comes to mind. I've even listed it on Movie Cliche' lists here!

Of course, there is that scene in Edgar Ulmer's THE BLACK CAT where Lugosi spies the black cat and throws a handy knife at it, producing an off-screen yowl.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I was gonna say Mal Brooks uses that gag on occasion.

That sort of thing happened in INVADER ZIM once.

I saw this a long time ago, but I'm sure it happens in Jackie Chan's The Big Brawl a.k.a. Battle Creek Brawl.

Someone is sitting on a railing on a walkway, Jackie advances and stamps his foot on the ground. The guy gets a fright and falls off the railing, landing hard, and then all you hear is a very angry cat spitting and yowling.  :teddyr:
