Interesting article from Imockery, he even includes animated gifs from the films...

I've always liked him bashing the sleeping bag against the tree in "Jason X" (a parody of Part VII).

Here is a weird question that just popped to mind:  How many people has Jason killed?  Meaning the ones we can verify by watching all of the movies?  It seems like that is the sort of tally that someone would have counted up on a fan website.

They left out Jason's kills in Freddy vs Jason.

Yeah, I saw that.  It's still an incredibly impressive list though.  I'll try to give Freddy Vs Jason a watch in the next day or two and post the results to this thread.  I think we owe it to Jason to be complete, right?

you know, neatly enough I remember there was a magazine that came out when I was younger called Monsters Attack! which basically was a series of horror stories in the style of EC comics and whatnot, and one of the issues they did was a "Jason's Body Count" where the listed EACH victim by film, how they died, "why" they died (like, "Had sex with some and so", "Pot smoking hippie",  "Failed to report grave robbing to police" and even listed a "bonus" section.  What's funny was for the list they had these black figures (similar to the type you'd see on a restroom door), indicating whether the kill was male or female  and in one section where three people where killed by having their heads cut off, the figures where shown without heads.  Hehe.

NOW, if you think that's geeky, it doesn't nearly represent the level of nerdiness I read in an article in Fangoria, where they tried to come up with a time line for the films, based in movie reference and all the "'X' years later" type stuff they put in the prologues.

I think the first site also has one for Freddy Krueger.

   132.   Blake (stab wounds)
   133.   John Doe (impalement)
   134.   Gibb (impalement)
   135.   John Doe (broken neck)
   136.   Shack (stab wounds, severe burns)
   137.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   138.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   139.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   140.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   141.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   142.   John Doe (stab wounds)
   143.   John Doe (crushed)
   144.   Scott Stubbs (electrocution)
   145.   Bill Freeburg* (dismemberment)
   146.   Charlie Linderman (blood loss)
   147.   Kia Waterson (stab wounds)

* Possessed by Freddy Kruger, but medically Freeburg was still alive
** Unknown number of rave casualties, only confirmed kills reported

I was wondering.

In Jason Goes to Hell, would the kills that Jason does in other people's bodies count as actual Jason kills since he actually isn't on screen?

That is good work by the author.  They even ignored the kills committed by his psychotic mother in the first movie.

Jason was legally responsible for those deaths in the same way Charles Manson was for the Tate/LaBianca murders.  And ethically, probably even more so as he was actually possessing them.  Haha.  It's only acts one and five where Jason is completely absent.

Somehow I never addressed the actual point of this thread!  Favorite kills!

I'd have to agree with Andrew.  My absolute favorite was when Jason repeatedly swung the occupied sleeping bag into the tree.  There's a story to this though.  One of the cable channels some years back had a marathon.  Between segments, beatniks would do monotonous* script readings, while an actor dressed in black would mime the scene.  Until my dying day I will remember the man reading (in his best Ginsberg impression), "And Jason picks up the sleeping back and swings it against the tree again and again and again," while the mime apathetically acted it out.

Number two would probably be the rooftop scuffle with Julius in Friday the 13th 8.

Number three would be the knife-through-port-o-john slaying... which I believe was in Friday the 13th 3D, but I can't seem to remember.

I've got a couple of favorite kills he's done.

Personal favorites right now are:

Jason X: Grabs girl's head, freezes it in Nitrogen, smashes it against counter.

Freddy vs. Jason: Stabs Trey in spine, bends bed.

Then there's a bit in the older ones that I have to look back at.

I agree about the sleeping bag kill (7 and 10) but I also like the axe in the face (1), the cleaver/machete in the handicapped guy's face before being rolled down the stairs (2), the weed whacker (7) and the head-dunking in the toxic waste barrel (8).  But my absolute favorite is the viscious harpoon gun to the groin and firing (4).

Mr. DS

Jason is a movie icon I respect although I never 100% cared for the Friday The 13th series.  I love Mrs. Vorhees as the killer in the fist one. The classic axe to the head was my favorite.  Either that or when Kevin Bacon got knocked off.
