Downright Creepy kids movies

I watched a movie a while ago that I enjoyed as a little kid. It was the original THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER. and I gotta tell ya, that movie is EFFED UP. The air conditioner comits suicide, the used aplience man seems to "murder" his apliances, Lampy almost dies, and the entire scene at the dump leaves me a bit squeamish. WHO FRAMED RODGER RABBIT is also one that is not without is questionable parts. Any Kid-intended movies gone very very wrong that you guys an' gals can think of?

Return to Oz, the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are three from my childhood that were f*cked up on so many levels. From evil minions dressed in leather bellboy costumes with creaking metal wheels for hands to giant killer beetle monsters to David Bowie in spandex, this is the holy trinity of "freaky kids movies that I'm not embarrassed to tell people I still like to watch".

The Brave Little Toaster rocked.  And yeah, it was F'ed up too.

All good choices too.  I still watch Labyrinth to this day.

Never Ending Story & Watership Down.  Granted Watership Down shouldn't really be considered a kid's story per se but I always remember them putting it on the air around Easter in my area. Not a good idea by the way.

I thought the singing orange midgets were the creepy part. 

They're odd.

My daughter, who just turned 5 this week, loves THE DARK CRYSTAL.  She's been watching it since she was three.  Her 2 year old brother likes it too, but basically if she likes it, he likes it.

She also loves A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, which of course has it's weird/creepy parts. DINOSAURUS! and IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA are also among her favorites.

Nothing.  If you think having a bunch of singing orange midgets living with you, while you lick walls and invite random kids in your house is normal.  Then yeah, nothing's creepy.

What is animal farm about? Ive always heard that it was messed up and I know that there was a cartoon made out of it, but Ive never been able to find it.

Short answer: It's about animals, led by some pigs, who rise up against their human oppressors and take control of a farm. The book is an allegory for Soviet totalitarianism.

I read Animal Farm in like, 9th Grade.

Fun book.

Don't know about the movie.  Haven't seen it.

I think you mean THE MOUSE AND HIS CHILD... but I agree, hardly a "kid's movie."
