Back in the day I would've said Dolph Lundgren.

Now, I'm not quite so sure.

Only if you could go back in time by twenty years and pluck his much older, much more defined, less "Krispy Kreme is my harsh mistress" current self.

I'm most excited by the Thor movie because it brings us one step closer to seeing a potential "Hulk vs. Thor" done right and on a big screen where such crazy titanic action should be seen!  TeddyR

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

I had read somewhere that the WWE's Triple-H (Hunter Hearst Helmsley) was going to play the Thor character; he certainly has the look, though I'm not sure he has the acting ability.

Thor is supposed to be a MASSIVE man. Picture Rolf Moeller who played Haken, the German in Gladiator and Conan on t.v. THAT is what Thor is supposed to look like. I find it disturbing that most of what I've seen on the net about who will play Thor revolves around his height and not his physique. What about a casting call? Has Hollywood abandoned that concept completely? The comic hero/thunder god is at least 6'6 and over 600 pounds. The weight seems too much, but who knows what a god would weigh??? The bottom line is MUSCULARITY. Forget Taylor Dane and anyone else who isn't very massive, no matter how tall they are.

I would cast Brad Pitt as the actor to play Thor. He los like in him in the 1966 cartoon that I remember.

I think Triple H woul be a very good choice if you were going on pure appearence, but I'm not sure how many real actors there are to fit the part.  Maybe Ron Pearlman.

Yeah, I suppose he wouldn't be too bad. They're looking for a "name" tho'. I keep hearing Matthew McConaughey being banded about.  Bluesad

In the case of Thor, they could go with two different actors, one has Dr. Donald Blake and another as Thor. Like the old Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno Hulk, there's actually quite a difference in appearance between Thor and his alter ego.

Your all wrong. Hollywood has never done a decent Viking, Norse movie. They always cast the wrong actors. One guy commented that Dolph Lundgren would have been good. He had the look and the size...when he did Masters of the Universe. They have to make Thor as a CGI character to pull it off. The same effect as the new Hulk.  Whoever said Triple H and Brad Pitt could play Thor was probably coming off a meth binge. First these guys dont even remotely look Norse or Scandinavian in the least because guess what...thier not! Somebody in Hollywood or Marvel do your homework. Do some research and try not to attempt a cheesy half hearted movie that a real Thor fan would puke on. CGI boys...CGI. Either that or go to Iceland or northern Norway and find a 6'6" gym goon or heavy labourer and spend a few bucks and teach him to act. Otherwise dont bother! May the Midgard Serpent chew you up and spit you out if you dont

I'd go with Eric Allen Krammer who was an Ator, and was Thor in the Hulk series. He was also Little John in Robin Hood Men in Tights.

A goon from Norway you say?
How about a psycho...

Yeah, he's also a Nazi bonehead, who'd be proud to do a movie about Norse mythology.
With your "Midgard Serpent" remark you sound a bit too serious about it.
