I know the R rated trailer looks like the movie will kick some ass and this interview really gives me some faith that it will.  They also discuss fans hatred of Paul WS Anderson.

Warning,  the article contains spoilers.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Well, they sound awfully impressed with themselves.  This may be due to the quotes that were used but these guys sound like knucklheads.  I'm starting to think that all this will be is a bunch of gore and frenetic action, but none of the thrills from Predator or the Alien films.

Oh well, I'll watch it.

There was a Preadalien in the earlier AVP:DUEL comic

The predator did use armor, just not a bunch!

You don't have to break rules to make a good R-rated film! Seems like they may just be trying to "push the limit". Directors these days have to either cut a bunch or corners to make it PG-13 or slunk in ridiculous gore to make it "Unrated". Hopefully these guys won't screw around with either of the above (not a chance).

The characters sound like they could very easliy be "generic idiots".

BTW, how does this take place on Earth? If that were so then wouldn't the alien already be a documented species in the first ALIEN?

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Can't be any worse than the 1st one.  An R rating doesn't automatically mean quality.
