What Video Games Are You Playing?

I've been playing Gears Of War, Halo 3 and Far Cry Instincts on my 360.

Otherwise on my PC I've been playing a good bit of the Orange Box.  Currently working my way through Half Life 2: Episode 2 more than anything in the box.

Valve = best developer ever.

seriously.  they are probably the only developer that has released that many games without coming out with a dud.

I've been bouncing between "Call of Cthulhu," Riddick-Escape From Butcher's Bay," and "Phantom Crash".  "Cthulhu" is great fun, but I'm stuck at this one point where you have to escape people trying to kill you. Man, it does induce a sense of panic!!

That scene was great... the first time I played it. It really captured the panic in trying to escape a hotel full of angry Innsmouth villagers. It was significantly less great the next twenty or so times I played it, where I finally figured out to get through it. You have to turn around, lock doors, push dressers in front of others, and run like hell.

Unfortunately, that's the turning point for "Call of Cthulhu." The game starts out with a brilliant and moody atmosphere, but after that point it turns to its combat system, which is unworkable by design. Don't get me wrong, it's worth playing to completion, but they should have stuck with the problem solving, instead of throwing invulnerable Deep Ones at the player.

I'm still working on getting Left 4 Dead. I just signed up for XBox Live a few weeks ago and I feel ashamed that I've yet to get what I've heard to be the greatest zombie killing experience known to man. 

As for what I am playing right now, I've been playing Bionic Commando: ReArmed and Vigilante 8 Arcade, getting my ass kicked on Ikaruga, and for the last 5 hours I've been downloading updates to Final Fantasy XI so I can finally give that a try. Makes me wish I'd ponied up for the bigger hard drive now...

Finished Golden Axe: Beast Rider just this week.  I know it got a ton of bad reviews, but honestly I didn't think it was terrible.  I really liked it. 

Moving through MK vs DCU and FINALLY playing Resident Evil 4.

I tried the Mirror's Edge demo available through XBox Live and enjoyed it enough to give it a rental.

Right now I'm running through DOOM to unlock the Live achievements. Same thing with Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD... damn, does that title really need to be so friggin long!? Finished up Vigilante 8 yesterday, but sadly won't be able to get the final achievement because there's never anybody online for the multiplayer.

I would say it seems that game is turing into one of those games you either love or hate, but even those who thought it had major flaws seem to like the fact it was trying something different.   It'll probably become a cult favorite.

The only achievement left for me is the "Win 10 XBox Live Matches" one. I think it's called "King of the Road"? If you catch me on Live and you're not busy amigo, let me know! I finally got my headset too.
