What Video Games Are You Playing?

Replayed Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, remembered how to get all his body parts but forgot how to get to him.  Had to look it up on the net.

Also, You Are Empty.  Not the greatest game ever but definitely enjoyable.  Sure it is a mess at times, but you can always find something to laugh at or something enjoyable to do in each level.

Playing Kingdoms of Amalur:  Reckoning.  It's quite a bit like Skyrim actually, except instead of going for realism they went with an art style that's just a touch more cartoonish.  I'm not finding it nearly as immersive as Skyrim, but still having some fun with it.

[Umaril Has Returned]

Recently I finished Dishonored for the '360, and it was a short but very sweet game. Great visuals of a turn of the century steam-punk city named Dunwall,  ripped right out of a Jules Verne or H.P. Lovecraft novel. Good game!

Right now, working on Skyrim for the '360. Got it patched thru the X-Box Marketplace and the quest loop is gone. meaning I can now play the game w\o the broken quest loop. I can't wait to get further into the game.

Ironic as I recently found that also.  It is interesting to see things that others were doing and then realizing we are not so different after all.

I celebrated finishing my novel by starting to play my Elder Scrolls games all over again, starting with MORROWIND. About halfway thru the main quest now.

Visiting Red Mountain and Dagoth Ur again, eh, Indy?  I only hope that the "quest loop" in Skyrim has bene fixed for the '360 with the update I applied. If not, it's more time wasted and I'll have to resort to the PC verion and it's myriad of fixes. So far, so good, it seems..

Still playing Kingdoms of Amalur.  The gameplay is pretty fun, the biggest problem is that every time somebody gives me a quest (and there are hundreds of them) they're telling me about some guy, and then there was a curse or something, and there's some item I need to retrieve...I ain't got a clue what they're talking about.  I just go to the yellow circle on the map, kill everything, and bring them their item.  It's rather uninvolving.  I think I'm way over-leveled for where I am in the game, I can wipe out whole rooms full of enemies with a single spell.  Oh well, I'm getting kind of bored with it so it's good I can zip through the quests pretty fast I suppose.

Having a heck of a time in Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. I found a legitimate way to make lots of gold, and it's not a bug of any sort.

Here's the deal:

A: In the town of Whiterun (where you kill your first dragon outside by the Western Tower) there's a tavern called the Bannered Mare. There's a woodchooper's block just outside the door.

B: If you have a Woodcutter's Axe, you can go to the chopping block and chop wood as much as you want, and get 5 gold for each individual piece. There's no limit to the amount you can chop.

C: However, how you position your character at the block determines whether you chop one piece of wood at a time, or three. Some experimentation is needed with this. 

The process is long and tedious, but well worth it as it allows you to train and practice in most of the skills available such as smithing and alchemy. So, that said, good luck and happy hunting, and I'll meet you at  the Bannered Mare

For money in Skyrim I just worked on maxing out my smithing skill.  By the time you start making ebony armor and improving it to its highest level, there's no merchant that even has enough money to pay you full price for it    Enchanting is great for that too, you can take some crummy dagger and enchant it and the price goes up ten fold.  Then I had some mask that gave me 20% better prices on everything and I think I leveled up that bartering skill a bit too.

It was an okay game.

Just started on Dragon's Dogma last night - LOVING it so far.
