Book Quoted in "Carrie"

Does anyone know what book Carrie White's mother keeps quoting in the movie "Carrie"? The one that says "The raven was called sin", or something.

I haven't read CARRIE in awhile...but I do believe she may have been quoting the Bible...which I have never read all the way through.

I was kind of hoping someone would say the bible, so I could go all Aunt Esther. YOU HEATHEN! People who think that's the bible are HEEEEAAATHENS!!! Actually, it could be from the Catholic extended dance mix, but I doubt it.

It's not anything I recognize from Scripture, but it could certainly come from the Hebrew or Christian apocrypha, which contain lots of weird stuff . . .
