Has anyone seen the movie "Bloodbath in the House of Death"? It was a horror spoof with Vincent Price. It was about a group of investigators who are researching the strange goings on at an infamous murder house, and they all get popped off one by one. The movie was probably made in the late 70's, early 80's. I saw it when I was a kid and thought it was extremely funny. Sadly I haven't been able to find a copy, or even find it listed anywhere. It's not even in any of Prices filmographies I've checked out. Please help if you can.

"Bloodbath at the House of Death" is, without a doubt, one of the worse Vincent Price movies in existence.  It tries to do for horror what "Airplane" did for disaster movies, and fails miserably.

I think it tries too hard, and really doesn't have a grasp on what horror's about.  Of course, that's just my opinion, but I do find it humorous that you can't find it in Price's filmographies.

While it's not that great, I always enjoyed watching it when it used to turn up on cable. It really was just a spoof of well known scenes from horror flicks strung together with a thin story and bland characters. Price's part was only a glorified cameo, but it was funny to see him camping it up. I'd rather watch this film again than most of the horror stuff he did in the 80s like "The Monster Club" or "House of the Long Shadows".

I'd like to find a copy myself, but it has been out of print for a long time. The only video store in my area that had it, had two copies: one EP and one SP. Why they had two copies of an older title that wasn't a heavy renter, and kept both when one was in so bad shape, I have no idea. Both copies even survived periodic purges of old titles to make room for newer stuff.

Interesting you mentioned liking BBatHoD more than "Monster Club."  I always rather liked MC.  My opinion of it is quite close to yours of BBatHoD.

I don't think Price embarrasses himself nearly as bad in MC , plus it has two fairly entertaining stories, which was two more than I thought BBatHoD had.  I won't argue that it's a lost classic or anything, but if it’s on, I'll watch it.

"House of Long Shadows" I have no use for whatsoever, which is quite sad, considering who it stars.

Yes. He has made some good movies, he had made some "bad" movies, and he had made some bad-bad movies, both "Green Hell" and "Adventures of Captain Fabian" come to mind, but . . . as a previous poster has noted, this has to be the worst, or one of the worst, movies he has ever made (IMHO)
And to call his role in the film, a "glorified" cameo, might be doing it too much justice. As far as I can remember, if you miss the first five minutes of the movie, you miss his part entirely.

"House of Long Shadows" is very dreadful. It really is a shame that the only time someone got these four horror greats together in one film was as a nostalgia act for such a watered down joke of a horror flick. It seemed more like a TV movie than a real film. It would have been nice to see them in a remake of "Comedy of Terrors" or a darker black comedy in that vein.

"The Monster Club" just rubbed me the wrong way; I don't like anthology films for the most part. For me, the good stories are rarely so good that they outweigh the bad ones, causing me to have a very mixed opinion of the film, at best. This goes for most anthologies, not just horror ones.

I have a copy of "Long Shadows" lying around somewhere, but I haven't gotten around to watching it. I knew when I bought it it would be bad, but dammit, I just couldn't pass up that cover.

Well, I didn't say it was the friggin English Patient(a TRULY bad movie). Like I said, I saw it several times when I was a kid(9 or 10) and enjoyed it very much. Since my tastes haven't matured much in the last 15 years, I'm sure it would still be worth a giggle. I agree with your opinion on "Captain Fabian" Keeerist...what a stinker...and that was in the fifties, somewhere in the middle of Price's career! One of my favorite VP roles was in "His Kind of Woman" it's a 1950's Robert Mitchum suspense flick...Price plays a hammy actor. He is freakin' HYlarious!! Check it out if you haven't yet.
