Like a ticking time bomb, the national debt is an explosion waiting to happen. It's expanding by about $1.4 billion a day — or nearly $1 million a minute.

What's that mean to you?

It means almost $30,000 in debt for each man, woman, child and infant in the United States.

We need to tell these drunken spenders to get it under control, or find new people to go the Washington.

Well, nothing is ever going to be done about it.  No politician is ever going to quit spending like there's no tomorrow, and most people won't vote for a politician who isn't promising them goodies.  Personally I look forward to the day when they default on the debt payments.  It will signify the beginning of a quantum shift in American politics, much like Russia is going through now, except that America will hopefully still have enough of its capitalist structure in place to make a swift recovery.  But after that, all those government programs will be gone, and probably for a good long time.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.
