Quote(heck, I wouldn't mind asking you some questions about it in a PM sometime if you were actually interesting in reading and answering them.

Fire away. .

QuoteThat being said, call me cynical, but I'd wonder how many of the so-called suicidal prisoners aren't just saying that as another attempt at sympathy or manipulation (which I'm sure you'd agree most criminals are damn good at doing.)

Very true, and often the case, but so many of them actually have their lives savedby someone else, in situations where it was dumb luck/random chance. I'm sure there are those that ARE being manipulative and just overdo it and actually kill themselves, but I also believe there are those that are acutally trying and just don't get it right. The institution I work at does everything they can to punish people that attempt, and try everything to not award for it (Which causes clashes with the mental health people, who often take a reward, reward, reward stance).

QuoteApproximately 70% of those who are put in jail for a crime wind up committing the same crime, or another crime, again, once they are released from prison.

Exactly 0% of those executed for crimes ever commit any crime again.

True, but you have to take into account the wrongfully convicted aspect of it, and viewpoints on that varies wildly. That's a tough pill to swallow: Putting an innocent person to death, and partially because you sped up the process in order to save money. The fact is that the vast majority of the cases are not cut and dry. There's all kinds of cases in the books where the prosecution's star witness WAS the prime suspect BEFORE they turned informant/witness, and the judge DIDN'T ALLOW THE JURY TO KNOW THAT. People getting considered for bigger sentences because they DIDN'T ADMIT GUILT, then other not being allowed to appeal their case BECAUSE THEY ADMITTED OR AT LEAST APOLOGIZED IN ORDER TO AVOID THAT BIGGER SENTENCE. This guy got 100% railroaded, and got a re-trial, and the prosecution, knowing it was 100% obvious how badly the re-trial was going for them, was pretty much asking him to take a plea and do only a short bit more time (as well as the other consequences of being convicted of murder), as a favor to them. The first trial was screwed from the beginning on an insane level.

Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

I secrete awesomeness, this is because I descend from a long line of pimps.

Yes, salad.

I like Fun Pops or freeze pops as I call them.  You know, those liquid filled little bags of plastic that you buy at Wal-mart for like 2 for $5.00 (and other places), and you freeze them?  To me, knowing is more relaxing than reading a good book while sucking down a few of those.

QuotePutting an innocent person to death

No one is innocent, everyone is guilty of something.

Ok then, "Putting a person that is innocent of the charges levied against them to death". .

Funny thing: the blue one taste best. Even though I'm sure they're all just corn syrup and cheap coloring with absolutely no added flavoring; the red, blue, and orange one are simply delicious and the yellow and geens ones - disgusting. The purple one are good, but I hae to be in the mood.

And I can't believe there's not a rapper named "FLAV*OR*ICE".
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I wish they would bring back Tizer Ice, it was my favourite drink and I can't even find a picture of a can anywhere, it's like the world does not want to believe that it ever existed!! Arrrghh!!

Sister Grace

Rose, my dog, got ran over today by some jerk-face going sixty down a gravel road. She's at the animal hospital, we thought she had broken her front leg; but fortunately it was just sprained. They are keeping her overnight for observation cause they fear she may have internal injuries. I hope she is going to be ok...

Sorry to hear about Rose, SisterGrace. I hope she's fine.

I grew up on a long country road that unfortunately ended at a popular RV camp. The idiots driving those huge land barges thought, as my dad used to say, they had one minute to get from the main highway to the damn campground. Our neighbor used to throw rocks and old hubcaps in the middle of the road to make 'em slow down.

I'm going on vacation next week for the first time in many, many years. I'm mainly worried about my dogs being OK, even though a trusted friend will be coming to feed and water them.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

EDIT: Listening to BIG STAR and my random thought was how could this band get so overlooked??
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

I keep thinking of great random thoughts to post here, but as soon as I sit down in front of the coputer, they're all gone...just gone man.  Like the Night Rider when Max pulled up behind him and turned the siren on.

Sorry to hear about your dog Sister Grace, I hope everything turns out okay.
