It's OK, they make more you know? Just gotta go find yourself another. . .
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

I was at the grocery store tonight and noticed that they had added a British food section.  I mean, c'mon, even the Brits aren't desparate enough to eat that stuff!

What was in it ?
We have Polish, Chinese and Indian food shops here.
They sell all kinds of weird stuff.
I can't blame the Poles that are coming here, I've seen their food !
I'd get to Britain pretty darn quick if I had to eat what they eat !

Eastern Europe, man...

Knowing * 2 = Battle ?

Of course.  Didn't COBRA teach us anything?

Eastern Europe, man...

I think they had cookies labeled as biscuits, and biscuits labeled as cookies.  And instant blood pudding (just add the blood!)

Next time I go I'll take a closer look and see what's really there.  I was just surprised they had a separate section for Brit food because it's not like we're drowning in English immigrants here in Kentucky, and British cuisine isn't something people usually go out of their way to seek out like Chinese, Indian, French, Italian, Thai, Mexican, etc., many of which did not get their own section.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Well, I've actually been known to buy that stuff online. There are a few British brands of things that aren't often carried here.
- Walkers Stem Ginger Biscuits. Cookies with pieces of ginger in them. You can get Walkers Shortbread in a lot of places, but the Stem Ginger cookies are hard to find.
- Fancy-schmancy teas.
- Interesting marmalades
- Mincemeat, at Christmas. I may be the only person in the US who likes it, but dammit I do like it and a Christmas time, I want my mince pies. So I make myself a couple.
There are other things that I've seen at Christmas team, like "plum pudding" and "hard sauce" but I haven't tried buying them yet.

There was also a brand of granola-type cereal called Dorset Cereals that turned out to be a specialty English item when I tried to track it down after my local grocery stopped carrying it. I like granola but did you ever check out the calorie counts on that stuff? Dorset has half the calories of any other brand. It's very mysterious why there are so many calories in granola, or why Dorset's is leaner.

We also have an English electric tea-kettle. I can't figure out why this invention hasn't crossed the Atlantic. It has an electrical base, and a top part that holds the water. Flip the switch, it shuts itself off when the water boils and you lift the pitcher of hot water off the base and take it to the table. Our appliance makers haven't figured out the "shuts itself off" or "detachable pitcher" part.

Is it really all that weird that it doesn't bother me if a girl doesn't shave her legs?

That's what keeps this country going.
Take it away from us and we are well and truly Belgiumed !

There was one hot babe in spandex in the Super Mario Bros. movie, I'll practically sit through the whole damned thing just to see her.
