Hmmm...I think that depends: are you 'afraid' of messing something up? Of looking stupid? Of causing pain or of suffering some sort of personal pain? "Coward" is not the first descriptive that comes to mind: cautious, sensitive, thoughtful - all come way before 'cowardly'.

The fear could just as easily be of missing out on something because of things left unsaid; IME that is far likelier in life.

I wish I knew where this came from: but I read somewhere that before saying a thing, one should always ask/consider these questions:

Is it true?
Will saying it hurt anyone?
Does it *need* to be said?

Yes. But for me it is platonic feelings only. I've already discussed this with him but he keep dropping subtle hints like above. Doggett, I'm here for a hug but thats it.
