I've been trying but then she's never on for a week or two and then something or someone gets in the way. She even walked into the pub nextdoor to work, but by the time she did I'd had 7 pints and had spilt one on my "trousers!". So, I once again let her slip through the net. It's safe to say I am obssessed with this chick, I want to wine and dine her and force her to give birth to my make-up and mullet wearing children.

You're older now; forget the "force her" part and think about your good warm feelings.  You have a lot to offer a young woman who wants a REAL man.  You are your own person, a good one, and a smart, interesting, if not a bit subjective, one.  Remember, not everyone is necessarily going to understand and appreciate your own interests, and style, right away.  If you are attracted to this woman, let her see you; charm her, but from your heart.  Be sincere.  BS can only get you so far, and I think you want a relationship, not a quick lay.

I read the book by michael Crichton "a case of need" it's really good. murder mystery with issues around abortion pre Roe v Wade.
