Very well said, mate. I',m dealing with some issues in this area myself, and have a bit to say. February 28th, 2011 was ten years ago that my maternal gramms passed away. Making it worse? from that time, to 2007, 7 more relatives passed away.

It's been hard on me in ways that didn't hit me then, but hit me now, and damned hard. These were people who were all around me during my formative years..people I knew since I was old enough to walk and talk. And now, they're all gone, like that, game over.

It's only my mom and her brother and one cousin. It hurts, going back to see my mom. Going to a house that was once filled with so much laughter and fun, now filled with empty chairs, a mantle full of photos, and a memory in every corner.

How this comes full circle, is you are so right..there's always a bit of sadness inside of you. It never leaves. Be it now, or 10 years later, the hurt is still inside. It never leaves.

I saw a car on the road today with a "baby on board" type of bumper sticker. I found it ironic the person driving the car was smoking.

Just recently, in my province, they passed a law that it is illegal to smoke in a car with someone under the age of 18 (which is the legal smoking age). I'm pretty happy that it passed.

My Dad passed in 2008 but it was in its way a blessing as he was very ill and stubbornly refused (a) to hide it and (b) to have treatment. An old soldier and tough to the last, his attitude was "If I die, then I die." Because of his love of cinema and the fact that he passed it on to me, I see him in every film that I see and that's a comfort.

How he would have loved this site and the people on it.
