Spent last night on patrol looking for a 86 year old woman with dementia who had went out and got lost. As far as I've been able to find out, she is still missing. Glad it was a warm night last night and hope she is found safe and well soon.

Patrol?  Are you with the police or something?

Hope they find her okay!

Alex

No, I was doing guard duty on base and the police asked if we could help out.
Hail to thyself

I am my own god
I require no shepherd
For I am no sheep.

Why are children in such a rush to grow up, and grown ups so determined to be as young as they can?
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Because the grass is always greener on the other side.
Hail to thyself
For I am my own master
I am my own god
I require no shepherd
For I am no sheep.

Because children often just see their limitations in that, they see all the things they can't do because the adults (or society) won't let them, and they're often eager to shake off the "shackles" of adult tyranny (real or imagined).

Us adults though, we learn that all these freedoms come with a lot of heavyass responsibilites and, to top it off, the more time that goes by we get to see the consequences of getting older and come face to face with our impending deaths.  So, yeah, I think that sums it up.

I think almost everyone wants to get to 21 years old and stay there forever.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Perfectly put, kind sir.

Self-confidence is a weird thing.  The times when you need it the most are the times when it'll usually be a its lowest point.

I wonder what Andrzej Bartkowiak (direct of Cradle 2 The Grave, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds and cinematographer to a bunch of other stuff) has been up to lately.  According to Wikipedia, he hasn't done a movie since Trespass 2011.

Soooo, badmovieians, last night the forecast here in the Midwestern hill country was for 0% chance of rain (if you don't commit that fact to memory my unforeseeable denouement will be all the more shocking) and with that in mind I took the hose and watered the garden, the flowers, the plants, soaked them thoroughly, wrapped the hose all up after my good deed (got my hands and forearms yucky, I hate that part) and about one minute after I came inside, yup, the almost clear blue skies freakishly opened up, spewing a gullywasher for over twenty minutes.

Methinks the god of summer was laughing at me.

Why would he need one?  He'd just step on anybody who try to subpoena him.

And yet, none of that sweet, sweet, karma from it.
