It was the killing an arab bit that gave it away. Funny thing is, that although I have heard of that song I have never actually listened to it and only know it from a school friend who used to talk about it during the first gulf war.

To fear the world is wise.  However, "fear the world" is bad advice.

I was reading about an interesting correlation between atheism, political militantism, and poor relationships with fathers.

A Roadrunner at full speed can reach an average speed of 32kmph (or 20mph in old money).

A Coyote can chase its prey at an average speed of 69kmph (or 43mph, seriously folks get with the modern age. The Brits invented the Imperial system and even we've dumped it now).

Our childhoods were all a big fat lie!

BREAKING NEWS JUST IN!!!!!

President Trump has spoken to the Japanese. Apparantly the whole Pearl Harbour thing never happened. It was all a lie and mostly the fault of the US intelligence services.

When questioned about this claim the pres said "I asked them if they did it and they said no. What more can I do?"

I once knew this guy who I drove to work with and our conversations were always kind of strained because half the time he'd either a) sit there silently while I was trying to have a conversation with him or b) constantly interrupt with questions, many of which he would have found out the answer to if he'd just waited me for to finish what I was saying.

I found myself constantly mentally shaking my head at the number of things this guy did NOT know about.  I mean, I get it, not everyone is into pop-culture/nerdish stuff but still... for example, I mentioned looking forward to the (then) upcoming Jurassic World movie saying, "But I'm biased, as I've always wanted to have a T-Rex."  And he says to me, "What's a T-Rex?"  This guy was a 44 or so year-old man and he did NOT know what a T-Rex was?!  I mean, my sister teachers kindergarten and most of her students from any given year would probably know what a T-Rex is.

So, I said, "T-Rex, you know, Tyrannosaurus Rex?  A type of a huge dinosaur with really large legs and small arms."  I didn't push to ask him if he knew what  dinosaur was, because I was worried what the answer would be.

On another occasion I was talking about sounds that annoy me.  I mentioned how train whistles (up close) hurt my ears.  And he's like, "Why?"  And I said, "What do you mean, why?  They're loud and hurt my ears."  I mean, that seems pretty self-explanatory to me.  But he's still, "But why?"  And I said, "Well, it's a painful, annoying sound.  Like you know, when someone rubs a balloon and it makes that awful squeaking sound; you know, it's just painful and annoying."

Well, he had no idea what I was talking about, apparently he'd never heard that sound.  And I'm like, "You've never rubbed a balloon before?"  And he looks at me like I'm the crazy one.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong in thinking that's a common thing to rub balloons at least once in your life, but still...

(Oh, and I also mentioned nails on a chalkboard, but apparently he had never heard that either.)

So, yeah, that was an odd co-existence.

I am going to call latex caulk as kinky caulk.

I think aging is an inherited illness (and not that's not a reference to Erma Bombeck's quip about how we get it from our children) I seriously do. Call it the inheritance of death as mentioned in the Bible and Koran or stick to strictly biology, I wonder if the aging process that leads to debilitation and decline and death is not literally a disease that resides in our DNA, and if so we might eradicate it? We already know we can slow it, as we can slow the progression of many recognized diseases, we know diet, exercise, certain genetic traits affect aging, that some families seem to age more slowly and retain "youth" longer, and all that also hints that aging could be a disease, one that is transmitted across generations and one that is 100% contagious and 100% fatal. A few doctors and researchers have spoken of this and I think they're on the right path.

Had a very frustrating day at work which was all down to the I.T. system running incredibly slowly. I debated putting my fist through the screen, or throwing the whole lot out of the nearest window.

So much nicer now having an office that has windows to the outside rather than just y'know the corridor outside.

But anyway, sent a message saying "ARGH ARGH ARGH! f**kING I.T. IN THIS PLACE!!!! f**k f**kITY f**kING f**k f**k f**k!"

The message I got back was "Have you tried switching it off and on again?"

Sometimes I hate that I ever got Kristi to watch The I.T. Crowd.

She does a lot of geneology. If you ask her about it you might find that you are.

Also if your wife asks you to fetch a drink from the kitchen for her and you bring her up a bottle of baby milk she will be highly unimpressed with you.
