Jaws (1975) decade-long genre tag battle at IMDb came to a rest, for now. The tag "horror" was removed yet again, but for how long?

The whole Antonio Brown debacle isn't funny anymore.

I wonder if Kraft foods ever tried to get Devo's "Whip It" to be part of an ad campaign for Cool Whip (or even Miracle Whip.)  I know Devo would probably object to their stuff being used by a corporation, but just think about how well it fits.

Jaws is a monster movie plain and simple. That shark was no different than any other giant radioactive mutant monster from an old scifi movie. It was about as close to a real shark as the ants in THEM were close to real ants.

Yes it was a good movie but it was a monster movie, they may as well have had Dreyfus declare the shark a radioactive mutant monster and get it  over with.

I rewatched John Carpenter's THE THING and felt bad knowing that CGI has taken over those incredible practical effects. People these days have no idea what they're missing.

So if people kill rattlesnakes that rattle at them in warning, isn't that setting up natural selection to increase the rattlesnakes that don't rattle and warn us?

I don't think Devo could refuse: https://www.thebalancecareers.com/what-is-a-compulsory-license-in-music-2460357

This kinda sounds like legalized theft to me. Also what if someone wants to take a song and use it for hateful purposes?

Read it more carefully; you can't change the song.

The laws go back a long time; they were made to:

1) Make sure writers were paid when someone recorded a song

And

2) Make sure a piano roll company couldn't monopolize the music industry by buying all of Tin Pan Alley.

...That's frightening. Better pray the needed mutation(s) never happen.

Since when did STRAWS become a bad thing?  I mean, they've been around since like, what, at least the fifties?  And now it seems we got even Democratic candidates talking about BANNING them.

Yeah! And they're hailing pasta straws as the answer, but I thought, well, what about Celiacs? They going to make these pasta straws out of rice?

Ever hear of "harbinger down"? You might want to look it up and read its backstory.
