About once a week I will post a political topic on FB, usually pointing out the latest stupidity or ineptitude on the part of President Trump.
Of course, with nearly 3000 followers, probably 2/3 of whom are Trump supporters, the post gets descended on like a bleeding cow swimming through a school of piranha.   I take a lot of verbal lumps, and I don't mind.  I enjoy political debate and always have.

But tonight a former high school classmate, after considerable back and forth, told me that I should be hanged for treason because I was a "lunatic liberal moron retard" and also made very derogatory comments about both of my deceased parents.

I blocked and unfriended him, but if he ever repeats those comments to my face, he will be spitting out some teeth!

Some lines should not be crossed.
Need extra security to fend off people like that? I'm your guy

Sorry to hear this Indy. I wish a lot of people could take a step back and see their comments from a fresh perspective.

So, they say that people fear what they don't understand, but they also say that familiarity breed contempt, so I guess the secret is to get to know something just well enough that you don't fear them, but not too much least you start to hate them....

Saw a comment that is harsh, but true.

Jokes about anti vaxxers never get old. But then neither do their children.

Speaking of vaccinations and disease, I had another scary conversation with a man I used to know in Austin, who works for a health department in Texas, and he said again we're sitting on a time bomb with so many Third World people working in restaurants, coming as they do (at least far south in Texas) straight from areas where diseases uncommon in the United States are transmitted.

He said, "You would not believe how hard it is to get some people who work in restaurants to wash their hands. They resist doing it. They also seem to like to pee in bathroom sinks."

I said, "Seriously?"

"Seriously."

Then he said food poisoning reports are up this year after being up last year in the county where he works.

I asked what could be done about it and he said, "If you try to bring it up in meetings, you get told not to because of the backlash of criticism, so all we can do is order posters in foreign languages to put up in restrooms and kitchens, and in some cases where there's time, go out and give quick talks, and hope it works."

Guess like so much else, time will tell, but it's not a nice thought.

I don't know, this part really pings my bulls**t radar. Makes zero sense.

Customer complaint about "pervasive urine smell in sinks" was apparently part of the reason one Chinese buffet he went out to was inspected. His brother is married to a Mexican woman who refuses to eat where Central Americans work because she claims they're "inmundo" (if I have that word right) which I think is a base kind of dirtiness, but I also know many Mexicans seem to hold prejudices against people from Central America.

The part that sets off my bovine scatology alarm is that health department employees actually work, considering how much trouble I had getting someone to look at a Kroger's freezer that kept everything in it half thawed and dripping.

The only reference to restaurant workers peeing in the sink I could find was a Pizza Hut manager in West Virginia in 2014: https://time.com/8796/pizza-hut-employee-fired-for-peeing-in-the-kitchen-sink/

I'm a little prejudiced against West Virginians by virtue of having lived there briefly, but I don't think they pee in sinks a lot.

^ Why don't you like West Virginians? I never lived there, or even visited, but I went threw it on a train. Beautiful country.
I did see dirt roads running upside the mountains, and hillbilly shacks.
I can get along with most hillbillys, but some brain dead, toothless methhead hill rat just makes me wanna punch them in the face.

I don't dislike West Virginians, I just think on the whole they can be... unsophisticated. Same thing goes for residents of Eastern Kentucky. Doesn't mean I don't like individuals.

I spent time in West Virginia last year and all these mutants kept trying to kill me in an abandoned water park, so I hightailed it to a charming mountain town called Grafton, and you wouldn't even believe what happened to me there! Made me wish I'd never left the vault....

So this weekend the leader of ISIS (T.B.U.H.) was killed in a daring raid by US special forces, and Indy has been absent from his site for about a week now. I'm thinking he is secretly a Navy SEAL and was involved in the operation. Sound about right?

It's been a nice evening, children all home, my cousin here with his.....uh, whatever she is to him, watching The Hunger Games marathon on AMC, mellowing out, fireplace crackling, coyotes howling outside in the chilly darkness, stars dotting the black velet skies above our river hills, puppies chewing on each other's tails and paws with carefree playfulness, snacks on hand, my daughter talking excitedly about her birthday Monday, even time feels slowed down....just a nice Saturday. I could definitely Groundhog Day this.
