Hey-hey there you crazy kids.

My first post here and it's one where I need your combined expertise.

Back in the mid nineties I rented out this cheapo 80's (I think) sci-fi film in which a bunch of kids discover that there's a group of aliens hiding out in an abandoned house/building in the neighborhood. When I say neighborhood I mean more of an urban type of setting rather than a small community out in the woods.  Anywho, they eventually find out about the aliens evil plot to take over the Earth and they wind up defeating the invaders and forcing the remaining spacemen to flee in their spaceship which was hidden down in the depths of the house/building.

I'm not sure if the film was American or British, and I remember that the aliens could change their appearance to match ours for when they had to go outside. I also remember that in the closing moments of the film, as the last alien is about to flee in the ship, it reveals it's true alien form to one of the remaining kids who is still in the house. I'm also pretty sure that in this scene the alien goes on about how more like him will return and that the future is hopeless for us humans here on Earth. Then the film closes with a real cheap looking shot of the alien ship hovering above the house then flying up into the air.

I can just barely remember the aliens looking kind of like a more fleshy-coloured  version of those "grey" type of aliens that are always supposed to be abducting lonely hicks here on Earth, except they had really small beady eyes that lit up in an orange colour and they had regular sized mouths etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ian.

I can at least tell you I've seen it too.  I can't remember the name, though, and now it's driving me nuts!

No, I don't think that's it. But thanks for trying to help out.

Could it be bad taste?

The alien description doesn't match, but most of the rest seems to. Probably not, but worth a look. Was the ship INSIDE the house, or WAS IT the house? In Bad Taste, the entire house is the spaceship. Even if it isn't the one you're looking for, give it a watch.
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

Happiness is green text in the "Stuff To Watch For" section.

James James: The man so nice, they named him twice.

WOOF!

Bad Taste didn't have any kids, but the rest of the story is quite similar.
Maybe the scene with the guy entering an alien's head with a chainsaw and finally finds his way out through his ass, rings a bell? Which part did Peter Jackson play again?
It's Mr. Freak to you!

Nope, wasn't Bad Taste. Again, thanks for trying to help out, this one's driving me insane!

I'm pretty sure that the ship came up from inside the house/building at the end.

If the plot of the aliens to take over the world included some hypnotizing video game of movie or whatever, it might be "Remote control" (1988).

......"Now toddle off and fly your flying machine."
