High Fidelity- I love this movie, even own the dvd.  It stars John Cusack, Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Tim Robbins and Lisa Bonet and is SUCH a good movie, but most people I know don't like it.  I don't understand why.

That was a good film.

I bought it as soon as I saw this clip referencing JAMC.
It's a great movie.  Cusack's a great actor, but Jack Black steals every scene he's in in this movie.

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

5th element : not many seemed to 'get' it when it came out, still only know 2 people who like it.

hercules in new york : my secret shame movie :teddyr:

soldier : kurt russell film, doesn't say alot but i think thats the point of what he was in it, and the battles listed on his arm reference 'blade runner'

highlander 2 : DC makes more sense, but its mere coincidence that the actors and characters have the same names, lol, not good in the highlander franchise but not a terrible movie if you forget it is

equilibrium : slightly different this one, seems to garner a preconception of 'just more matrix style gunplay', but the story is very 'Fahrenheit 451' imo, i blame marketing

i prob have more but this will do for now

I loved Boogie Nights as well.  I really don't care for Very Long movies, I get bored really fast.  I also enjoyed Ed Wood, now if I would have watched it a few years before I knew about Plan 9 from Outer Space, I probably would have watched in a been like WTF?  Howard the Duck is another one that a lot of people didn't like, but everyone I knew who hated it, read the comics.  Highlander II wasn't that bad, but it was still out there.  There is one movie I know that my dad will not watch is the Rocky Horror Picture Show, he told me once that he went to a showing of it in the theaters with people dressed up and he said that was enough for him.

The last two that comes to mind are The Godfather Part III, and Rocky V.  A co worker of mine hates this films with a passion, so I rarely talk about them at all at work, but I think they were good films to watch.

In my little collection of bad cinema there is a movie called Preyliens: Alien Predators. It's a Z-grade movie that was probably shot with a camcorder and features such set design as Toolshed: The Cargo Hold, Livingroom: Main Controls and Styrofoam: Alien Ruins. The creatures consist of three puppets and a guy dressed in assorted costume parts. The acting is terrible, the dialoge laughable. ("That tree in the words when first you came upon me.") and the music strained. It does, however, hold the most hilarious death scenes you could ever hope to watch.

Every person I've shown this movie to shuns me for about a week after.

I liked it, and I also liked THE VILLAGE and LADY IN THE WATER   . .. . . I am largely  alone on that one.

Am I the only person in the world who liked The Rocketeer?

Yes.

Ha.

No offense to the guy who liked The Rocketeer, but damn.  I like bad movies but that's.  Wow.

Shadow

I liked The Rocketeer! Jennifer Connelly was hot and the 30's look and feel was cool. Plus I loved how Timothy Dalton's character was a none too subtle dig at Errol Flynn.

Films I like that few, if any, people also seem to like:

Grease 2
The Pirate Movie
Wing Commander
The Three Amigos
Shadow

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Mofo Rising

I'm fairly fond of The Three Amigos. I went to this ranch in Tucson where they filmed quite a few westerns, don't remember the name, and the tour guide had to keep pointing out locations that were used in The Three Amigos. The way he talked about them, however, I'm fairly certain he was not fond of the film in the slightest and would much rather be talking about John Wayne movies.

I got a kick out of that.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

AnubisVonMojo

I don't know anybody who doesn't like The Three Amigos, Shadow. And my fiancee also enjoys Grease 2 based solely on the cheese factor. Never heard of The Pirate Movie, but I'll be damned if I can understand what you see in Wing Commander my friend. I mean, I did see something in it, but then I realized it was an eye booger that had gotten into my line of vision and I quickly wiped it away.

"Don't make me stain my last clean shirt with the back of your head." - Shatter Dead
"A grizzly bear with a chainsaw. Now THERE's a killing machine!" - The Simpsons
"I've always wanted to make love to an angry welder." - Jaws: the Revenge

Kooshmeister

The 1976 version of King Kong...but then I'm pretty sure most could tell that from my very positive review of it on here.  :bouncegiggle:

Decent flick.  Watch the dvd regularly.  You should check out the sequel.  The zord fight at the end is great, because they did it the way it's done on the tv show, with a guy in a costume fighting another guy in a costume.  Not all cgi like in MMPR: The Movie.  Reminded me of Godzilla, which added to the appeal for me.
