The Creep

His everyone, I run an art site called the Creep Machine and am also a huge fan of B Movies.  I just curated my first art show in San Francisco, and of course the theme of the show was art inspired by low-budget cinema.

There were some really killer works submitted to the show. Works that were inspired by Killer  Klowns, Freaks, This Island Earth, Robot Monster, Toxic Avenger, Killer Tomatoes, The Blob, Plan 9, Dr. Phibes and many more.

If it's ok with everyone here, I would like to share some images of the works. I just wanted to ask, to make sure it was ok. I figured this show would fit the whole theme of the site.

nice to meet everyone, and I'm really glad I found this msg board.

Andrew

I am pretty sure I found the site via a Google search, and there are some neat pieces in one of the gallery areas.  I like the cartoon version of Ro-Man.  In any case, I'd like to see the images.

You know, a Ro-Man plush toy would be a great thing...

Please share!  I'd love to see them.  Andrew's the only one you needed to get permission from, though.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

The Creep

Cool, I like the idea of a plush Ro-Man. I plan on doing this show next year as well, so any ideas you guys have, I'll try to get it done.

Here are some of my favorites from the show:

"Hostile Space Clown" by S.L. Grice

"Freaky Friday" by David MacDowell

"Killer Klown in Outer Space" by David Choquette

"Post Raphaelite Invasion" by Ego

"Double Feature" by Brandi Read

"We Accept You" by Jason Rudolphpena

There are still a lot of the paintings available, and I also plan on making some prints of the more popular works. There are many more pieces that I loved, but these are just a sample. I think there was like 55 paintings in all for the show.

Nice stuff I collect home grown, alternative and outsider art. Do they sell originals?

Actually, most of these are for sale. The only one that isn't is "Freaky Friday", that one sold.
My art site is called  www.creepmachine.com     and you go to the "store" area, you will see all what is available.

Sorry, if that is soliciting, this is a cool forum I don't want to do anything stupid.

Hey I asked, besides we buy, sell and trade stuff here. Granted we do have a section for that, but I ask you answered, no problem.
As far as doing something stupid ... you wouldn't be the first or the last, we've all done something stupid.

The Creep

Ok, as long as it is ok.

If you head over to   www.creepmachine.com/store
you can see all the work that is available. Also if you have any requests for which ones you would like to see fine art prints from, let me know.

I plan on doing more shows that feature this kind of work, and I am also in touch with a lot of the artists so I can setup commission work as well.

Andrew

Posting links to other b-movie and cult film sites (along with other entertainment sites) is completely OK.  The rule is just "no spamming" - so no posting of the same message multiple times, and no attempting to deceive others about your affiliation with the site.  You are in the clear on all counts.

Hey thats some cool work. Inspired by Robert Crumb, or maybe even Stephen Blickenstaff?

Patient7

That's some good stuff RC, it kind of looks like some comics that are in Mad magazine occasionally, very detailed to a point where it's almost eery.  To those who haven't hit the link yet, some of these are not safe for work or definitley school.
Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.

The Creep

One of the artists on the show is very "Mad Magazine" like as well. He even worked on the "Hollywood Zombies" cards that just came out. His ink works blows me away.

"Vulnavia (Dr. Phibes Rides Again)" by John Cebollero

I remember seeing a couple of those before.  Bela, you are a sick puppy... no wonder I love you.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

RC's work reminds me of Mike Diana, only less demented.  BTW, RC, I'm using "Acid Baby" as my desktop wallpaper this week.

The others are all interesting and well done, and I only hope The Creep will post some more for us!
