Good . . . but not great.  Jeff Bridges is excellent as Obadiah Stane and the action sequences in the first half of the movie are very good.  Unfortunately, I thought the climactic battle was somewhat disappointing.  If I were to give this a letter grade, it would get a "B" or a "B - ".

I thought Downey was excellent also.  I think they cut the movie too tightly. I read that a lot of Terrence Howard's part ended up on the cutting room floor.

The main terrorist character is being setup to appear in the sequel as The Mandarin.

Did you stay until the end of the credits? If you didn't then you missed something.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

The Burgomaster

Nope . . . I missed it.  Guess I'll have to go back and see it again!

It was awesome! The only problem I had was that it didn't seem like there were fight scenes.. I mean, the one's that were there were amazing, I just wish that there was more.

I caught a line in the movie which referred to his terrorist organization as The Ten Rings, so there were some subtle clues foreshadowing this.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Pilgermann

I know next to nothing about the Iron Man comics, and I didn't have high expectations for this movie, but I really really enjoyed it.  It's not perfect by any means, but it's great entertainment.  I haven't heard of anyone who hated it, yet.

I agree that the climax was a bit weak, but overall I can't complain.

I liked it alot. I agree that the climactic fight scene could have been better, but it was still pretty good. Fav just needs to spruce up his action sequences. I think the acting was great and Downey nailed Stark , the attitude, the excess, dead on. I liked his relationship with Pepper Potts. She obviously has feelings for Stark but she's not going down easy like any other of Stark's legion of conquests. Plus the Ten Rings is funded and maybe controlled by the Mandarin. And that 2 minutes after the credits are probably as thrilling as the actual movie, and that's no snub against the movie. 100 million at the box office, you see Hollywood, there is profit to be had in quality comic books movies.

And Stan Lee had  a GREAT cameo!

*** out of ****.

I enjoyed it, casting was perfect with Robert Downey Jr. being most excellent in the title role.   I too agree though that the movie seemed like it was cut a bit too tight at times.  I also think that the climatic fight scene near the end of the movie didn't have nearly the punch that that the whole Iron Man & the Jets scene had earlier on.  I'm sensing an extended director's cut on DVD at some point.

For me, It comes just short of getting a ***1/2 rating but it is still a highly enjoyable start for this new franchise/character.

That's not really saying much.

X-Men 3 certainly wasn't nearly as bad as either of the Fantastic Four movies IMO.

To everyone what I hate about X-Men 3 number 1 they killed the main people that shouldn't die in the first place Professor X, Cyclops, and Jean Grey. Number 2 they really mess up the story line The Juggernaut was suppose to be Professor X 's step-brother not a stranger to him. So that's why I really don't like X-Men 3 Happy Now.

Some of the action scenes were okay but overall it was pretty weak, IMO.
