...I have a long way to go if I even dare to consider thinking about changing my name to Menard 2.0 or Son of Menard.

If you want to experience the 'Phantom Negative Karma Phenomenon' firsthand - just post something negative about President George W. Bush!  :tongueout:

Hey!  You went down!  I gave you karma and you went up to 181...!  :bouncegiggle:  :bouncegiggle:  :bouncegiggle:   I now restore you.

Hmmm...I'll experiment!

I don't always tell someone when I bump up their karma, but I nearly always let someone know when I ding them a point and why.  Haven't done it lately; usually my target is Lester when he is being more obnoxiously wrong than usual.  But doggone it, he has the courage of his convictions so I haven't knocked him down in awhile, even though he is just as wrong as ever . . . I prefer to simply state my opposite opinion and see where the thread goes.

Yeah, I also tend to use negative karma very sparingly. Like real karma, what goes around comes around. I'm more likely to hand out positive points for anything that strikes me as clever.

Negative points, to me, are for when somebody says something that is totally uncalled-for. Not simple disagreement, even if I find the position infuriating. I'll just make my case, as I usually do (although lately, I've made an effort to avoid jumping into political debates on the board).

But ad hominem attacks, trolling, spamming or statements that are blatantly inflammatory, unfounded and unfair - those get a point knocked off.

I see someone knocked RC down a point.
He was at 450 and now he's at 449.

I bumped it back up to 450 for you RC!

I rarely give negative karma and only do so for the same reasons Andy mentioned.

I am the one who knocked BELA and wrote to him about how I had absolutely NO REASON to do it...  :bouncegiggle:   :bouncegiggle:  :teddyr:  :bouncegiggle:
C'mon now, lads, this karma thing has gotten too serious (and I will restore plus plus my buddy BELA tomorrow...)

Oddly enough, I haven't lost a single point of karma.

karma is for CRYBABYS

Ouch, you sir do not know how to insult a person, the best time to call a person a crybaby is while they're crying, not when they're just stating their mild frustration which is long since dead.

And by the way, I've basically considered my personal problem here over because this karma dropper is too much of a little wuss to admit it.  However if this person is reading this I just want to say,

Dude, what.  What?  You wanna start something?  C'mon!  Yeah.  What?  What?  C'mon!  What?  and so on.
