I've never particularly liked Ted Kennedy, but I hope he does recover.  I wouldn't wish that on (almost) anybody.

I can't stand the man politically, but I still do hope that he makes a thorough recovery and that his family is strong through this.

I don't like Ted Kennedy, never have. However, I wouldn't wish a brain tumor on anyone. I do hope he recovers and this would be a excellent time for him to step down and get some rest.
