"Grizzly" is not all that bad.  There are certainly worse "Jaws" clones, like Up From the Depths and the almost indescribably bad (and long) "The Beast."

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

If I had a dollar for every time there was a monster on the loose, but the annual celebration/festival/big money maker was scheduled for that weekend, so the mayor wouldn't allow an evacuation...

there is no "good suspense"  or "decent building".  it's a FORMULA.  i won't stand for all the support for this movie.  I won't stand for it!

Well, I ordered and watched this one, and I have to say I was lightly entertained.  It's a very tame film, sure, but almost enjoyable for being so tame.  Am I the only one who thought it was kind of odd the monster liked to roar a lot and no one ever noticed it's existence?  Or how it would roar and people just wouldn't take that as their cue to get the hell out of there fast enough?

It's funny that you say "The Beast" is a "Jaws" clone, they're both based on Peter Benchly novels with the same names. The novel "The Beast" is set in Bermuda, the beastie in the story is a giant squid, the story's leading character, Whip Darling, is a renowned waterman who wants nothing to do with the squid, in fact when the authorities ask his opinion he says "leave it alone, it'll go away", of course the powers that be ignore him and he is, for a variety of reasons , forced to help. It's a good book, easy to read and very entertaining. The movie on the other hand is just bad, as in awful.
Grizzly is an alright film, based on "Jaws" but still entertaining in its own right. Generally when there's a very popular movie you can count on a number of thinly disguised knockoffs and even a TV series. Some of these are just better than others.
The TV movie "Snowbeast" reminds me of a book I read, "Snowman" which was a knockoff of the film "Jaws" set in the Rocky Mountains. The title monster is a giant hairy snowman who likes to eat bears and people, kills the town's snowqueen  by tearing her head off and then eats the rest of her. The mayor says the snow festival must go on, there's no such thing as monsters, sheriff you make sure nothing happens to cause panic etc. A book that is very easy to read and one which requires no thought on the part of the reader. I don't believe that the film gives any credit to this book but the similarities are there, as made for TV movies go "Snowbeast" is pretty good, even for a "Jaws" clone.

I love Snowbeast.  Sure it isn't anything more than Jaws in the mountains, but it works.  Not much happens over the course of the movie, yet I felt very drawn in by it.  I can't explain it, but I thought it was kind of atmospheric.
Despite their criticism, quabrot, it's still great.  I really like SNOWBEAST.  It's movies like this that motivate guys like me to find websites like BADMOVIES.ORG!!

Well then, go fall down.

I rather enjoyed this film. A made for TV movie that entertained for its runtime; works for me.

there werent any hot chicks or licentiousness.  it was a bunch of middle eaged characters.  what is the point of movies that don't have hot chicks?

Judging from your avatar, I'm not too fond of what you consider to be a hot chick.
