The Halloween remake is more of a ripoff of Offerings (1989?) than it is a "re-imagining" of the original Halloween. Discuss.

Interesting thought.

It's been a while since I saw Offerings. But doesn't that bring up a a chicken/egg question?

I mean, was Halloween a tweak of Offerings a tweak of Halloween?

I just added it to my NF queue. I'll get back to you when I watch it again.

I know what you mean about the chicken/egg theory. Offerings was definately a riff on Halloween, but the thing I noticed was that it tended to center on the killer's childhood, lousy parents, etc., which is what reminded me of the remake.
