I saw most of both of these movies on tv tonight. (Death Race 2000 was on Turner Classic Movies, which I found amusing), and both kicked ass from what I saw. I need to go get them both so I can watch the whole thing of both of them. I particularly liked the make up and transformation effects on THE HOWLING. i forget the guys name who did it, (Roger Corman? No, thats probobly not it). Anywho, thats my 2 cents.

I noticed those were on last night.  I set the DVD recorder and got Madman off IFC.  Can't remember if I've seen it before, if I have it was really, reeeeeeeeeeeeally cheesy and stupid.  Then I got the immortal Yor, Hunter of the Future .  My DVD collection just isn't complete without that one :teddyr:

Sounds like an excellent night of viewing KY! I love both of those movies for very different reasons. The Howling is still my favorite werewolf flick (though The Company of Wolves comes in a close second) and unless you hate goofy violent vehicular homicide, you can't go wrong with Death Race 2000! :teddyr:

Rob Bottin? I heard he was involved. He also did The Thing and The Fog.

Yea, i noticed Madman was on last night and it is a movie that Ive been wantin gto see for a looooong time, but then i saw that The Howling was on, and Ive heard good things about that, so I watched it. Madman will have to wait for a different night.

I had flopped into bed and was perusing channels, seconds away from drifting off to sleep. I came across Death Race 2000 and left that on, even though I own the DVD. Just as I was about to succumb to sleep, I figured I'd see what was on afterwards. When I saw the listing for Yor, I immediately jumped up, found a blank tape and set the VCR. Since who knows how long it will be before Yor hits DVD (if ever), I had to record it.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Ha!  Same here.
I was flipping through channels late last night and when I got to TCM, I saw the Paramount logo come onscreen so I decided to see what movie it was.
It was Yor!

I hadn't seen that movie since I was a kid growing up in the 80's.

Sadly, I watched the first half hour then drifted off to sleep in the big black leather recliner I was sitting in.
I woke up to see the last few scenes and then the credits rolled.  Darn...

But it stars Reb Brown, hero of such "epic" films as Space Mutiny, Howling II, and those two amazing Captain America flicks in the late-70s.  :tongueout:

The second half of it is a sci-fi movie.  Yeah, I don't quite understand it either

Warp Ninja X

I remember when Yor came out the soundtrack and the commercial made me want to see the movie but I forgot to go.  Then later HBO started to played it all the time I watched it then. Yor is pretty good movie but they should did better with the plot.

The Dungeonmaster

I bought my copy of Deathrace 2000 from a $1.00 bin at Walgreens. At every chapter point, the movie reverts to the "chapter selection" menu and I have to select the next chapter in line manually. It's annoying as all hell! But the movie is worth it. Especially to see Stallone punch a chick in the face, haha.

Hey, does anyone  know what the deal is with those happy face stickers that are all over the place in THE HOWLING?
