Like "alien", , only they are on a ship??

Saw this MANY years ago, , it was either on a ship or an offshore oil rig, , they brought up from the bottom of the sea some "rocks" that I believe turned out to be eggs. Of course, creatures hatched and went on some little killing spree. I believe one of the creatures got smashed by a fire extinguisher. Any ideas?
