Just wanted to get this thread back on track and remind everyone what the current picture is.
I'm not sure what it is, but knowing how AHD thinks---is it an Italian neorealist movie?
The guy looks kinda like John Drew Barrymore...
REV: Getting back on track, exactly, "INR"... I probably couldn't have picked an easier one, new shot below.   TeddyR
RC: Nope, way off.

Ossessione, the unofficial unlicensed version of The Postman Always Rings Twice.  For many years it was unavailable in the US because of this!

Am I right?

Hint: It's Asian in origin, but not a Hong Kong or Japanese film.

Wow, I totally forgot about this.  Sorry!

Hint 1: It's Korean

Hint 2: The star of this film (pictured) was the villain in a much more famous, more recent Korean blockbuster-type film.

Oldboy?

No.

Here's another hint: the more recent Korean film the actor appeared in was an Eastern Western.

Hmm, it's not JOINT SECURITY AREA, is it?  Something more obscure?

Not JSA.  Looks like you know the right actor, as he is a lead in JSA.  I think this one may be more obscure than I realized.

Joint Security Area got a US DVD release, but I don't believe this one has yet.  It is a number of years more recent than that one as well, which makes that even more surprising.

Since you've seemingly pegged the actor, I'll say that the Eastern Western I was referring to is the highly entertaining The Good, The Bad, The Weird.

Well... I do know the actor, so I'll narrow it down eventually.  I'll still make only 1 guess at a time in case anyone wants to jump in and steal it after I did all the legwork.

A BITTERSWEET LIFE?

You got it!  Very good film, from the same director of The Good, The Bad, The Weird and A Tale of Two Sisters.  Man by the name of Kim Ji-woon.

The actor, of course, is Lee Hyung-bun.  Good actor, and I hear people say he's so good looking even straight men pine after him.

I'd suggest looking the film up Rev...  Not perfect, but I think you'd enjoy it.  Unfortunately, it's not on Net Flix and the DVD seems to be out of print!?  Ridiculous, especially for a film less than five years old!

Amazon shows it as available: http://www.amazon.com/Bittersweet-Life-Directors-Cut-DVD/dp/B000HAX8ZC.  Of course I'd love to see it, but do you realize how long my viewing queue is now?  Wink Actually I want to see TG TB & TW first.

I'm away from my home computer right now but will post something later.

It's available on Amazon because some of the third party retailers there have stock left.  It's no longer being printed (from what I could determine), and is getting harder and harder to find, even on Korean sites.

But I hear ya on the viewing queue..  Mine is also ridiculously long.  I enjoyed TGTBTW more than A Bittersweet Life, BTW, but tonally they're quite different.

Small hint: she's pressing down on something in this scene.
