Movies you've snoozed through

Nukie 2

I cannot get through "Star Odessey" or "War of the Robots", just the way they both try to add an edge to the films in the beginning by talking immaterial jargon.

I've tried Star Odessey like 4 times, I always wake up around the boxing scene between a robot and a man, then fall back asleep.

How about your snoozers?

Gothic.  It was so effete and mannered that as my eyes started to slam shut, I hit the "eject" button and saved myself.
It takes a child to raze a village. -- Jello Biafra

Psycho Circus

Face Of The Screaming Werewolf, They Nest, Party Crasher and Friday 13th Part One. More recently I fell asleep at the cinema during "Sweeney Todd", which takes the cake for being the most boring film I have ever seen and for  having the worst music in a film ever!  :bluesad:

Kester Pelagius

I actually fell asleep, in the theatre, while watching Karate Kid.  I'm sure it was probably because we went to the late showing (around 11 PM or so) and has no reflection on the movie itself.

As for movies watched at home. . The first time I tried to sit thorugh GUINEA PIG, MERMAID IN A MANHOLE, I found it so friggin dull and boring I ejected the disc without bothering to even look at the other movie on the DVD.  If there's a more tedious gore flick out there I don't want to know about it.

Boredom usually doesn't sink in while I'm weatching movies, though when it does my usual solution is to simply find something better to do. There have been some bad cases though in which I'll watch a movie I actually want to see late at night, when the dreadful fatigue starts to set in :bluesad:. Most recent memorable case for me was "Night of the demon", which I rented yesterday and watched in it's entirety.

Dude Where's My Car?  My girlfriend (now wife) and I started watching it and I woke up around the end credits.  Never felt a need to go back and see what I missed either.  From what I hear it wasn't much.

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch- Still haven't gone back to watch it, and don't know if I should either.
Pirates of the Caribbean- My first time watching, at least.  I did eventually see the whole thing.  It was good, but I don't know if they should've warranted a trilogy.
Star Wars- I 'watched' this on tv, and by 'watched', I mean I saw Luke in a desert for 25 minutes talking to a tin can and an overgrown Academy Award talking to each other about one thing or another, fell asleep, woke up about 3 hours later and the credits were beginning.  I figured if those 25 minutes or so sucked so bad as to knock me out for 3 hours, then I'm afraid to watch it again.  I really have zero interest in Star Wars so any argument about how 'brilliantly shot' it is or 'how wonderfully written" it is, will just fall on deaf ears.  I've heard those arguments and I still have little interest.  Ignorance, yes, but hey, I'm hard-headed.

No offense.

You really should go back and re-watch it.  It's like a badge of honor to say you made it through it.

But what the hell do I know, seeing as I went out and bought the dvd. :teddyr:

"Blade".  The big battle at the beginning was good.  Then nothing else was happening.  I woke up in time to see Blade and some chick torturing an extremely obese vampire with a UV light, then promptly passed out again.  I woke up again when Mom and Dad jostled me awake when the credits started.

The only movies I fell asleep during(that I can remember )are the following flix I saw at the theater:
ALIEN,OH GOD and DAMNATION ALLEY.
Keep in mind that this was when I was 6-8 years of age and so it had nothing to do with not liking the movies.

The Burgomaster

I never fell asleep in a theater.  Sometimes I fall asleep if I'm watching a DVD late at night, but I always finish watching it within the next few days no matter how boring it is.  Once I start watching a movie (ANY movie) I must see it all the way to the end.

I bought a 10 movie pack called Fright Night, that was a wonderful cure for insomnia.  Movies like Kill Baby Kill, Devil's Nightmare, Good Against Evil, Baba Yaga, etc.  Devil's Nightmare even had a lesbian love scene that bored the hell out of me.  Now that takes some doing  :teddyr:

Chariots of Fire: I'm talking REM sleep, puddle of drool on the floor beside me, didn't remember where I was when I woke up kind of sleep. I don't know if it was actual sleep, a coma, or if CoF just sucked the conciousness out of me.

The only movie that ever put me to sleep was "Cool World."
