In the history of cinema, many science fiction films have been made.  Starforce was one of them.

The eponymous Starforce is kind of the same thing as the Space Marines from Aliens.  One member of Starforce (his name was weird, so I'll just call him Guy) is sent on a solo mission to a planet to deliver medical supplies.  He crashes on the planet because the space traffic control tower is sabotaged and destroyed.

Once there, guy meets a girl (didn't catch her name either, so she's Girl).  Guy and Girl find out that one of the colonists and Guy's immediate superior have conspired to kill all the colonists and steal the planet's tritium, which is a valuable mineral, apparently used for fuel.  Guy and Girl have to face off against the traitors.

Starforce is a bad movie, no doubt, but it tries, hard, and it means well.  That's enough to win it favor from me.  They just didn't have enough budget or talent to pull it off.  The final battle, between Guy's light attack craft and a much more heavily armed and armored battleship is actually kind of exciting.

As a side note, the villains aren't evil so much as they are simply ideologically opposed to the protagonists.  Guy's traitorous former commander, as played by Vernon "Wez" Wells, is actually pretty sympathetic.  He cares about his men and is quite competent as a commanding officer.  His reasons for betraying The Supreme Council (or whatever) even make sense!  Frankly, I was rooting for him more than Guy.

Also, it must have been pretty cold wherever they were filming the exteriors.  Girl's nipples should have had their own credit!
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!
