18.) Spiderman

In response, I give you this:

Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

Mr. DS

32.) The original Human Torch

Another one of the original comic book characters from Marvel.

"You think the honey badger cares?  It doesn't give a sh*t."  Randall

Psycho Circus

33. Venom

Spiderman's greatest enemy in my opinion, pushed him to the limit so many times, being both brutal at yet moral.

Patient7

I couldn't find a picture but for 34. I'll vote Monroe.  Mad magazine's answer to the most pitiful idea of a teenager you could think of.
Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.

35) Galactus

May be the largest character in the Marvel Universe. Galactus threatened to devour the planet Zenn-La, but was persuaded by native Norrin Radd to spare it in exchange for becoming his new herald. Galactus transformed Radd into the Silver Surfer, suppressing his morals so that he could lead Galactus to inhabited worlds to consume.

No.36 - Machine Man - I never really liked the guy when he debuted in Marvel's 2001: A Space Odyssey series back in the '70s, nor did I like him when he became "X-51" sometime in the '90s. However, after Warren Ellis got a hold of him and the rest of his Nextwave teammates, I enjoy his new back talking robot supremacist personality. It's even better now that he's the star of Marvel Zombies Vol. 3 too. :teddyr:

"Don't make me stain my last clean shirt with the back of your head." - Shatter Dead
"A grizzly bear with a chainsaw. Now THERE's a killing machine!" - The Simpsons
"I've always wanted to make love to an angry welder." - Jaws: the Revenge

37.) The Penguin

Personally, I've always been a 'marvel' fan as opposed to a DC fan.  However, Batman is my favorite DC hero, mostly because I feel he's got one of the better 'rogue's gallery', in part because of The Penguin.  Penguin's always been a favorite character of mine.

38) The Punisher

A man with no superpowers, who is just filled with the need for vengeance and has a large supply of guns. Rambo for the Marvel Universe and a character who can be a plausible feature in most crossovers. The film adaptations suck tho'.

Mr. DS

39.) Gambit

More than anything the guy oozes coolness and his mutant power rocks.

40) Death's Head

The awesomeness of Death's Head needs no explanation  :teddyr:

Hey CC, what did you think of the Garth Ennis - Doug Braithwaite "What If" style one-shot The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe? I personally enjoyed it and thought it was entirely feasible (or at least as feasible as you can get for a comic book world), but I know a number of people I've met thought it was a stupid, pointless story.

No.41 - Milk & Cheese! - The spawn of Evan Dorkin and probably one of the funniest (and most popular) indy comics ever printed, the carton of hate and wedge of spite committed senseless comic violence on random people while spouting nonsensical battle cries. Even funnier? The series lasted six or seven issues like this... and it was still funny! :teddyr:

Yeah I thought it was good, didn't see why people thought it was a stupid idea. I mean, there's been way more sillier stuff take place, characters have died countless times and come back. I guess Punisher would have a hard job really considering everyone else's powers, but Marvel can do what they like and it was something different.

Same. I think it really bugged me though when a friend told me he thought it was brilliant when DC revealed that Batman had plans to take down everyone in the Justice League, but that when the Punisher did so in that book that same friend thought it was the stupidest thing he'd seen in years... Of course he's an unabashed DC fanboy so he's biased on the topic, but still.
