Just saw Kung Fu Hustle for the first time last night and I was like what the beep is this?
Kung fu on crack mixed with a road runner cartoon. I would love to see a review of it on here and appearantly they are making a sequel.

Andrew

No idea when I will be getting around to this one.  The next martial arts flick I am going to start working on is the classic "Chinese Super Ninja."  After that, and it's usually a few months between kung fu flicks, I am thinking about "Kung-Fu from Beyond the Grave."

I guess that I often avoid the newer films because they already get quite a lot of attention.  After a while, once the mainstream buzz fades, I start looking into them.  I do still review a newer film, and try to slip one in every so often (once a month or every two months).

KFH is not a bad movie. IT F'ING AWSOME!

I love it, check out Shaolin Soccer (subbed version) if you liked KFH

"Chinese Super Ninja"  is that the Shaw Brothers movie? Good stuff Media Blasters should be releasing that soon probably under the alternate title "Five Element Ninjas"

I'd reccomend Ninja: the Final Duel for a "bad" ninja movie, many, many wtf moments.

Stephen Chow's movies are great.  All the comedies he made (most of his films) have a similar sense of humor.  I've seen a couple dozen of them.

My suggestions:

Love on Delivery, Shaolin Soccer, From Beijing With Love, Forbidden City Cop, Sixty Million Dollar Man, and Royal Tramp 1/2 (just got a US Dragon Dynasty release).

Yaddo 42

KFH is an awesome flick, works as an action flick and a comedy. I got my best friend to watch it (with subtitles, and he hates subtitles). He was laughing so hard at times his wife and I thought he was going to hurt himself.

Picked up a copy for $3 at Big Lots, probably the high point of my mostly dull and screwed up weekend.  That and watching The Holy Mountain when it came in from Netflix.

I've seen previews of Chow's CJ7, it looked promising. Any good? Comments?
blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

I didn't like it at all.  Too long, overblown.  Enough with the special effects, just show me people beating the crap out of each other!
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

It is not like any previous Stephen Chow movie.  It is slower paced, a large amount of the film focuses on the kid (who is actually played by a girl) and the alien, and it is not a martial arts film at all.  The best gag (for me) was immediately after the saddest part of the movie, with absolutely zero time to recover.  Overall, the jokes are a lot slower than in Chow's 90's movies.  I liked it, but I can understand why many people were disappointed.

Loved Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer.  I'd class them as good movies, not bad movies though, especially KFH since the effects are quite well done.

It's such a great film, see it!

Saw CJ7 at the video store the other day, and it got my interest.  It looks like ET the comedy.  From the brief, it seems like a more 'family' type movie, in that it's more emotional and less ridiculous.

Still Kung Fu Hustle is a must see!

KFH is a pretty decent film to watch.  It's over the top but that's the way it's made to be so you have to ignore that fact when watching it.  The dub (which I though was stupid to a point) was on TV last night.  The sub is great.  I just sold my copy away on Amazon.com this weekend.

WingedSerpent

A friend of mine showed it to me and some other friends a while back.  It was a pretty good comedy movie.  I especially liked "The Beast"  and the musicall assissins.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Here's a one that would make a great review "Shaolin Vs Lama"

I liked Kung Fu Hustle.  I didn't think that it was quite as good as his previous film Shaolin Soccer but it was still a lot of fun.

I Saw The Movie A Couple Months Ago

The Movie Is So Unbelievably Bad That I Actually Liked It

This Is A Perfect Example Of A Movie " So Bad It's Good"

I caught this on cable. I felt like a rock n roll drummer on an M&M rush that night so I couldn't sit still. I remember nothing of it.
