The outfits are good.
Although they got a really weedy guy to play Dredd. It's kinda funny.

Simple answer ... no it's not wrong to laugh. In fact it's ok to point, laugh and make comments.

I think it's okay to laugh at those people.  Though some of those Japanese girls who dress up as their favorite anime characters, they're pretty nice  :teddyr:

Some places require it by law, and have a list of names such as 'Nerd', 'Geek', 'Spaz', or 'Loser' you are required to call them.

Laws vary by state: here they also have 'putz', 'freak', 'dweeb', 'dork' and 'doofus'.

I think it depends on the location, if you go out in public in a costume of this type you should expect to attract attention, some of which is going to be (let us be gentle) unflattering. If, on the otherhand, you're at a Trekkie convention dressed as a Klingon you're probably just one of the guys.

Man, you guys are harsh...
I think it's cool to dress up!  But only for certain franchises.

Especially at a Trek convention where it's acceptable and sort of a requirement.
One of the things I want to do sometime soon is to go to Vegas and attend a Trek convention.
You can bet I'll be there in a full red and black Starfleet uniform.
And I'll make sure to have four pips on my collar to show my captain's rank.   :teddyr:

However, I think it's ok to laugh at Star Wars geeks.
I like Star Wars, but would never in a million years dress up as a character from it.

Psycho Circus

I've dressed up like a lot of musicians over the years and ended up looking like a transvestite stripper. I've tried to look like Don Johnson as much as I possibly could....and failed. But, I have been to the pub as Snake Plisskin quite successfully.  :teddyr:

You weren't at a Seattle Mariner's game in 1997 or so were you?  I sat next to some guy dressed like that.

So the Star Trek geek says it's OK to harass Star Wars geeks? Nope, you're both nerds!  :teddyr:  I bet the Harry Potter geeks OR the Lord of the Rings geeks could take you guys in a fistfight. Haaaaaa!

What we need is geek wars!!!!

Star Trek fans VS Star Wars fans
Lord of the Rings fans VS Krull fans VS Hawk the Slayer (does it have any fans) VS Conan the Barbarian fans VS Red Sonya fans.
The people on Badmovies.org VS The people who work for the Academy Awards
Gremlins fans VS Critters fans
RoboCop fans VS Judge Dredd fans
Punisher fans VS Spider-man fans

Star wWrs fans would win just because there's soooo many of them.
