QuoteOh, and a lot of people bring up The Princess Bride as a movie no one seems to hate.  Well, I'm that one.  I don't just dislike it, I hate it.  HATE it, everything about it, every line of dialogue, every single frame of film.  HATE it.[
The more I see of this film, the more it's appeal ponders me.

Kelly LeBrock was on Hells Kitchen a few years back and now looks like a toad... :bluesad:

I love the COPS parody in Shrek 2.  They didn't have pepper spray, but the knight is grinding pepper in Shrek's face.   :bouncegiggle:

Bob Clark's immortal A Christmas Story.  Not hateable, no matter how much you hate Christmas.

And Night Of The Lepus.  Stone cold classic.

I don't hate pixar, but i am extremely meh about them.  It's a Wonderful Life is also meh.  Short Circuit was ok, but it was severely diminshed by the ham-handed environmentalist/pacifist propaganda that seeped out of its very pores.  Wizard of Oz...revolutionary for its time, and a lot of fun to make fun of. ;)

I've never found a movie that someone doesn't hate.  The problem is so many people will hate a movie for ridiculous reasons, such as "oh, she shouldn't have put her makeup on that way.  It's a stupid movie."  However, I think Princess Bride and Aliens are the closest ones I know of.

SHREK is one of those movies you don't want to admit to liking because you know it's dumbed down nonce.  But it probably comes the closest to any movie mentioned so far to meeting the criteria of the OOP.

re: The Princess Bride

I used to change the channel whenever this came on cable or TV.  It's not that I hate it, per se, but it's one of those movies that got played so often it just gets on your nerves after a while.  So while I don't hate it I don't exaxtly like it either.

re: Short Circuit

Sorry but I feel all the prints of those 80s era friendly pet robot movies should be put into a very deep pit somewhere in the desert where they used to do atomic testing, have a nuke put on top of them, and then wiped out of existence.   Actually you should probably throw E.T. and the Star Wars prequel trilogy (and all the novels written post the original trilogy, including the excreble cartoon/CGI series) in there too.

But SHREK, yeah, I guess that's okay.  And MONSTERS, INC (I think that's what it was called) wasn't too bad.

With the Christmas gift Ralphie gets this actually makes sense as a 'Demented Bunny' double feature.
