The list is okay, but there are surely some flaws in it.

* Magnum Force isn't nearly as good as Dirty Harry.

* French Connection is a classic. French Connection II is pretty good, but nowhere near as good as the original.

* Back to the Future II is probably the least enjoyable of the BTF trilogy.

EVIL DEAD II and DAWN OF THE DEAD are in some ways better than the originals, but in other ways they are not as good. So these are questionable choices.

I don't really see how you can compare Alien and Aliens, the first was a horror movie, the second more action/adventure horror. I love them both for what they are, but I don't think I'd say one is better than the other.

Same with Terminator and T2. The first had a much more limited budget, and focused more on the unstoppable force that was Arnie. The second - c'mon, nobody can tell me that liquid metal guy was half as intimidating as Arnie. It was a great movie, but I think the first one tops it by a bit.

Empire Strikes Back - no way, not better than Star Wars. It had a great opening sequence with the Imperial Walkers, but all that stuff on Degobah with Yoda was kind of dull and that whole thing with Lando Calrissian on the floating city was pretty lame. Star Wars has got that beat by a pretty wide margin.

Mad Max 2 - No, not better. A lot different, very good in its own way, but I'll take the original over it any day. Much cooler atmosphere, just a grittier film, better characters, weird as hell - Mad Max is a classic, while The Road Warrior is a very good movie.

T2 was not better than Terminator. John Connor the wannabe Bart Simpson did irreperable damage not only to T2, but the entire Terminator mythos. THIS guy is going to grow up to save the world? Then there was all the heavy-handed sentimentality that kept piling up once they rescued Sarah. And they spent a great amount of time making the Terminator lovable. Lovable! As far as I'm concerned, T2 doesn't even exist.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey better than the original. This guy should be accused of treason in San Dimas.

BTFII wasn't as good as the first one but it was good IMHO. I like them all but the first one will always be the best.

T2 was superior in production values to T1 but T1 was better casted. Ah-ny was bad @ss in that film.

One not on the list, Superman 2 I've always liked more than the orignal. Zod is the man.

TARZAN THE APE MAN (1932) is great, but TARZAN AND HIS MATE (1934) is better.

I've always felt that The Godfather and The Godfather II were equally great films. Granted I am among those who liked it when they combined the two films in chronological order of events. But even as seperate films they are both great.
Sadly the same can't be said for The Godfather III. It was horrible. It did teach Talia Shire that you should never revisit a role 20 years later and expect the same results. Might explain why Adrian was dead in the film Rocky Balboa.
Movie Trivia Fact : O.J. Simpson was considered for the title role in The Terminator, but producers feared he was \"too nice\" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer.
Isn\'t hindsight great.
A person is smart. I came here to say this same thing. Star Wars (ep. IV) is by far the best of the franchise. ESB and RotJ are enjoyable, and I loved them as a younger man, but Ep. IV is more rewatchable and far more memorable for me.

As for Mad Max and Road Warrior, as Jack said, they are vastly different movies. The story line is much better in Mad Max; we get to know and care about the characters. Road Warrior is more action oriented, and Max is more one dimensional. It's a very fun movie, but I can't see saying it is just out-and-out better than Mad Max.

As for the Bill & Ted movies, the second just doesn't work nearly as well as the first. The writer of the article picked a clunker there.

I think that list was taking way too long to load, but I will say that I agreed with their #20 BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (which turns up at the top of the list, apparently in ascending order...) and if it's not on their, it should be: STAR TREK: WRATH OF KHAN which I think is wonderful, exciting the masterpiece of bringing the literate and adventurous TV TREK to the big screen. I actually liked the first film, but it is mostly a long visit with old friends...

Both wrong. Return of the Jedi is the best, and I don't care how many people I have to execute...erm, I mean, disagree with me.

Watching this movie is punishment for shoplifting in some countries I've heard.

Ok...that may not be true and the film isn't THAT bad. However, the Ewoks helping trounce the empire was and still are one of the most ridiculous concepts ever to hit the screen. That is until Jar Jar entered my nerdy life.
