Movies You've Watched Because Of Your Significant Other

Mr. DS

I've always preferred to go to the movies alone.  That way I can see what I want to see and enjoy it.  However, in relationships, we get dragged to see things we don't want to see.  Sometimes, a film can and will surprise you though.  Heres a few I can think of;

Sweet Home Alabama - I don't like the song and I hated the movie more.

American Pie 2 - I hadn't seen the first one and had hardly a desire to after seeing this film.

The Notebook - Breaking my current trend in the thread, I actually liked this film.  Although I'm sick of it now.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding - ditto above

Ah yes...the things we sometimes do for some action... :teddyr:  In all fairness my wife sat through Star Wars Episode 2 with me.  I think she may have liked it more than me ironically.

My ex used to make me watch:

Cabin Fever
Jack Frost
Nightmare On Elm Street 4,5,6
Tank Girl
Sex & The City
Monster-In-Law
The Wedding Date
Catacombs
Nowhere
Jawbreaker
May
Idle Hands
Doom Generation
Lolita
White Chicks (every night for nearly 2 months!)

She must have made me watch all those at least 10-20 times each. Plus, Ghost World about 1 billion times, but I thought that was good.

Saucerman

The Libertine
Nacho Libre
Secret Window
Finding Neverland
Not Another Teen Movie
Up in Smoke (I think was the title, a Cheech and Chong film)
Juwanna Mann

The Burgomaster

My girlfriend (from many years ago) made me take her to see FLASHDANCE in the theater.  Not really my cup of tea, but I can't say I hated it.

:bluesad: Black Candles!!!   It was on one of those double feature DVDs.   The Evil Eye (or something like that) was the target movie, but we ended up watching this one too.  I had to cover my head for most of this one and it still gives me nightmares..  this is another one of those movies where the Netflix summary failed miserably at preparing you for what you're about to see.  Ever since this happened, I've demanded a full investigation from multiple sources of all movies before I'll watch them.

First of all, why would someone purposely seek out "Evil Eye"? Secondly, I am a bit jaded and even I kept shaking my head at "Black Candles".  Wow.  I've seen a lot of lame excuses to create a porn film, but this one...wow. I wasn't offended, although the sex with a goat scene left me fairly speechless.

I ended up watching "Dirty Dancing" because of a significant other.  I do not feel like my life was harmed or improved by this film, though I am saddened when I hear a reference, by a woman, to the watermelon scene. I'm horrified when I hear it referenced, in a positive way, by any male, straight or gay.

Oh, and "Pollyanna". I wanted the little brat to die at the end.

This one we saw on video...Riding In Cars With Boys.  I couldn't figure out if it was meant to be inspiring.  I found it too boring to care.

That's just a completely odd list.  And yes, Up in Smoke was the Cheech and Chong flick.  I mean, Juwanna Mann? Seriously?  Good god that was a heaping piece of s**t.  I could barely make it through twenty minutes on Comedy Central.  Although, from what I saw of Finding Neverland, that seemed okay.

Every Julia Roberts film made. Most are pure crap. Worst offender of them is that Steel Magnolias turd of a film. If it is on, my wife will be glued in front of the TV watching it.
Also stupid comedy films like Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans. She's a sucker for them.
Then there are all the chick flicks she loves to watch. She swears that the crap films shown on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network are good movies. And if the film is a chick flick, she will watch it. Her most recent stinkburger has to be Mama Mia! which she is trying to find the right time to drag out to force me to watch it. I am trying to talk her into watching it on my computer which has an LCD screen but I know she is going to want to wait until she can force that horror upon me with the regular TV.
