I actually hate people that knock Yngwie Malmsteen's playing. He's absolute magic on a guitar. Yes, most of his lead-work can sound the same all the time to the casual listener, but the man is playing classical scales at a mind-blowing speed with total accuracy. You only have to listen to "On The Run Again" (metal solos) and "Bedroom Eyes" (blues solos) to hear his diversity in both playing and tone. Plus, he came over to the US from Sweden at 16 and he's been around ever since....
