... chutzpah, shtick, plotz, shemozzle, schlock, shmo, schmendrik, schnoz, schlep, shiksa...

!!!!! Oy vey! That's really a word?

I took my name from a character in Peter S. Beagle's "Last Unicorn". I thought it was a play on the old comic book character Mandrake the Magician. Obviously Mr. Beagle was making a little joke I wasn't aware of.

I'm almost afraid to ask... what does it mean?

Yes, you're right, Yiddish words are fun to use even if you don't have the Jewish heritage to back it up. In particular I find there's just no substitute for "plotz", "shlep", or "schmuck".

We were just reading "Where the Wild Things are" and I found:

Rumpus.

You know, my funniest personal word is: flaccid.

I had a friend who'd say stuff like "Man this party is flaccid"

I wish I knew how to say all those unintelligible things they say on Firefly that sounds like Chinese swearing or something.
