I survived my shoulder operation.  I still have 4 holes around my shoulder area with staples in them, but my appointment is this coming Tuesday. I'm to get this damned sling off in the next week.  Living in my reclining chair is getting really old. The doctor recommended I sleep in it because I have to wear the sling all the time (except when bathing).

I've had three PT sessions, the last two both pretty rough. The good news is my range of motion is very excellent, especially considering I'm only one week out of surgery.

Can't type too much right now, but wanted to let ya'll know I'm still kickiing.

More news later.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Glad to hear your recovery is going well.

What was up with your shoulder?  Why did you need to have surgery on it?
(if you don't mind me asking)

By the way, you still coming to Iowa this year?
Trek Fest is coming up!

The shoulder started bothering me about September and the pain kept getting worse and my left arm was about useless.  When I finally got a doc that knew what he was looking at  I found out that I had a huge bone spur rubbing on my rotator cuff.  They removod the bone spur and had to tack my rotator cuff in a couple of places to repair a partial tear in it.  Now I will probably have to do 2 0r 3 months of physical therapy to get it back to normal. Right now they are doing all the movements for me (they showed my wife some sturr to do at home. I'm hoping by the time I see the doc next week I'll be in good enough shape to lose the sling and go back to work.

I don't think I'm going to make it to Iowa this year because of budget problems at work.  I don't think we're gonna have the travel money to come.

Best of luck in your recovery!  I'm sure you'll be good as new in no time.

This sounds like an early David Cronenberg movie.  Do you have any slimy organisms living in those holes?????

Although living in a recliner sounds a bit like heaven at times, I know surgery recovery gets old really fast.

here's to a speedy "Return to Normalcy"!

I went back for my checkup today and the doc told me to ween myself off the arm sling by the end of the week (I only need to wear it if my arm gets tired).

I get to sleep in my bed tonight!!!   Ohh, they pulled the staples out too.  I have one more therapy this week and two next  week (I' m supposing this will be the norm for a couple of months).

Thanks for all the well wishes everybody!
